I just received an e-mail from a female friend warning of suspicious men handing business cards out to women at gas stations. The cards are supposed to be soaked in a drug called 'Burungunda' which renders the victim vulnerable to robbery and/or sexual abuse.
This is a hoax!

I don't like these kind of hoaxes because they look to inspire fear in women and sometimes distract from real danger.

Its similar to the LSD slap on patch for kids. It can not be absorbed through the skin as the concentration of the chemical is low. It is like the urban legend that keeps going round but in different forms.

Yes, but targetting women and making them afraid is reprehensible. I've looked back at the e-mail from my friend and noted that it had over 20 addressees, me being the only male!
Fear is often contagious and reduces a person's quality of life, I can't udnerstand how anyone would get pleasure from it?

Some people like to spread fear as it gives them a perverse pleasure. Same way script kiddies do viruses just for the fun of knowing it will cause problems to someone else's PC.

Let's leave Dick Cheney out of this, shall we? :toofless:

But Phoenix we only have a few days left to get in all our Cheney humor. Then we will never speak of him again. Much like Voldemort.

Not usually but the subject matter caught my attention and it was from someone I know quite well!

Actually, that's a good description of the person who sent me the e-mail!
