And this one I had totally forgot about. I remember writing this in a actual thunderstorm in 2003. That was fun when it came through as I was beginning to write this for someone.

Can lightning be erotic?

The stillness of the night,

the faint breeze that tries to blow

as the rumbles grow louder

then fades into the silence

of which it came.

The gentle patter of the rain

softly wetting the ground

as it makes it's way forward

slowly

like an animal waiting to capture it's prey

The distant flash

illuminating the sky in an explosion

of purple blue white light

it creeps closer

air filled with expectation

and danger.

The thunderflash grows shorter

and I sit watching the spectacle of mother nature

the raw energy that is creation

and I wonder

can lightning be erotic?

And yes...I know that feeling , and have seen that very scene...:uhhuhuh:

On my side of the world , of course...

Beautiful. Lightening can be erotic. The metaphores of "electric"between lovers has been used frequently to describe arousal and desire.

:uhhuhuh: I have used that very term myself, Ruby Heart.

Something along the lines of this:

Electricity crackled between them as their eyes met.

I know, not a very good example, but it was all I could come up with on the fly that was PG 13... 8O

Nice piece and yes it can be erotic, I have written many poems and short stories using lightening and other aspects of storms.
