I just saw a new ad from the folks at Coca-Cola. It features a contest for a trip to London and stuff from the latest Harry Potter film.
At the end it shows three young boys wearing red caps and floating on besoms. Now I am waiting to see if they get zapped by certain fundie church groups.
Bash Coca-Cola?? Are the folks at Coke in league with the devil and promoting witchcraft?????????
Lions & Tigers & Bears, OH, MY!!!! :D :D :D :D :eek: :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
BUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LMAO...I would NOT be surprised. Though Coca Cola also had a Harry Potter contest, and Harry Potter advertising for the first film, and I didn't hear too much protest from the Christian Rite.
However, here are two other instances of the Christian Rite boycotting "products" due to "Witchcraft" or "Satanic" Themes (cough*cough)
The EEEEEEEEEEEVIL manufacturers of Pringles Chips (Proctor and Gamble) came under fire at one time, because supposedly, the President of P & G appeared on a Sally Jesse Raphael episode claiming that he is an avid Satanist, and proceeds of their sales, go to support Satanic Causes. It is, however, a hoax. Proctor and Gamble sued the person who started the gossip, and won. Though, now, everytime I see the Pringles man, I gotta wonder if that's what Satan looks like....(har..har...har...)
A Cough syrup, called 666 Cough Syrup, came under fire for obvious reasons, though again, the allegation was proved false.
Supposedly, the rockband KISS took their name, as an acronymn to "Knights in Satans Service" (roll eyes)
And A Scateboard manufacturing company (Tony Hawk, I think), supposedly engraved a 666 symbol as his logo on the skateboards he manufactured. :rolleyes:

There have been numerous rumors about P&G over the years because they produce cleaning products - the rumors were started by members of a rival company, the Amway corp, to drive their sales up and P&G's down.
Lol, reminds me of Kerr Cuchulain's series over at witchvox right now - this week's article is on the people who crusade against role playing games and call them Satanic. http://www.witchvox.com/protection/kerr_sfantasies_1a.html

I actually remember this from when I was young. They were attempting to start a boycott against P&G because of their "satanic" origins. They even used...gasp, a crescent as a logo at one time. Then folks finally wised up to just how much stuff P&G actually manufactures. Literally half of the products in your home I bet. Now they use the slogan..Procter & gamble..a family ...oh drats I forgot...organisation or company or some such thing.

HA! BOTH Coke and Pepsi are EVILLLLLL - I have proof!
They both give me galloping heartburn! (though Coke doesn't do it as badly as Pepsi, so it's less evil...)
Dr. Pepper is the one, true soft drink of the righteous! (or at least the heartburn prone...)

I think the fact coke has put out that ad show that they don't give a rat's ass. I hope more companies get over worrying about the christian fundelmentalists.

I think it's about time that people quite worrying about others and started worrying about themselves. I don't mean that in the selfish sense it sounds like, but stop worrying about what others think of you and do your own thing, THey'll either understand or they won't.

About the KISS thing. I saw Gene Simmons in an interview a few years ago and he was asked about the name. He said he started out teaching English and one of the things he used to tell his students was Keep It Simple Stupid. He said that `s where they got the name.
