Merry Meet, everyone, just found this site through google! I'm Wintersong, and I look forward to talking with all of you.

I do have a very important special request----

I'm sure all of us have been watching the unfolding events regarding the sniper/murderer that is on a rampage in Maryland and Virginia. Today he/they claimed another victim, viciously ripping apart yet another family.

Frankly, I think it's way past time that we pagans get off our collective duffs and join together to work some serious magick to help stop this insanity and help the police catch him/them.

Therefore, I am asking that other pagans join with me in working a binding on whoever is doing this. My plan is to start tonite, in the full of the moon, and to use the waning phase to focus on his power being diminished and bound. I will do a full ritual tonite and extend it for a full week.

It's been my experience that many working together CAN accomplish great good. It may not work, but at least we can try....our sisters in England certainly accomplished a lot in World War II with the invasion, and unknown to most people is that the serial killer in Atlanta years ago was caught right after a powerful ritual was performed by a coven there that I knew.

If at all possible, I would sincerely appreciate your support and participation, and if you could spread the word, I'm sure we could have pagans all around the country working on this in record time. Let's do what little we can to stop the murders!

Blessed Be, and I look forward to hearing from you all!

:eyebrow: Ah yes, and the sacrifices of several thousand soldiers had nothing to do with the success of the invasion of Normandy.

*shakes head* I don't do unnecessary binding on complete strangers...and since none of us know who the killer is, it's a rather dangerous to be so vague when doing a powerful act of magick like that.

/disagreement

That said....welcome to the board, pull up a chair and sit a spell. *smiles*

Ah yes, that Angela Lansbury movie, with the flying bed! It's always been one of my favorites!

Good luck with your effort.

"Bedknobs and Broomsticks" !!! It's one of my favorite movies.

Welcome to Mysticwicks wintersong.

Now, I'm going to chime in with WandererInGray. I don't do bindings at all. They are tricky and often backfire and I don't use spells on or about people I don't know.

However, I will send lots of energy to the families and the police and I will and am praying and thinking about all involved a lot.

Again, Welcome to MW :)

Hello Wintersong, WELCOME!

I admire the effort, I really do. It takes a lot of guts coming into a new community is tough enough, but to ask for help takes guts. I admire what you are trying to do and although I too agree in not sending that kind of energy out when we don't know who we are sending it out to, I commend your efforts and wish you much luck. This person must be stopped and I hope that your energies are not wasted...that the person will be brought to justice soon.

So, welcome. Enjoy yourself here and remember to have a good time! We are an interesting bunch and hope that you will think of this place as a "second home" soon, like many of us do now. ;) :)

And for those of you on the "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" kick, "Traguna, Mercoites, Tracorum, Sades-Dee!!!"

Welcome to MysticWicks

In my efforts to help I pray everyday that the authorities be pointed in the right direction so they may catch the shooter and put an end to this maddness.
I pray that the folks who live in that area feel the love of their Higher Power and that they have the energy and courage to face each day.
Candles are lit each on my altar each day in memory of the victims and their families and I pray that no more fall.

Welcome welcome! Stay a while.

I don't do bindings either, but I've seen numerous other online groups casting a collective spell or binding already.. I just don't like them. 8O

Good luck!

 Merry Meet and Welcome.

I also don't agree with doing a binding when we are not sure who the person is, but I know that many of us are praying that he'l be caught and for the protection of potential victims.

Hello and welcome!

Good luck with your efforts. I, too, don't do binding spells or spells of that nature. I believe magick is a more passive than active force. But like I said, good luck! I hope something positive comes out of it.

I appreciate all the responses, both positive and negative.

First, it wasn't my intent in mentioning the English witches to say that THEY did it, that would be idiocy. I was, instead, referring to the work they had been doing regarding weather magick, so that the troops would be able to successfully make the crossing. Might not have helped, but I always found it very interesting that the weather did suddenly clear enough for that to happen, when all the weather prognosticators had said that they didn't see any real clearing in sight for some time.

As for binding spells, yes they work and yes they must be done with extreme care. What I have found in my twenty years on this path is that the most successful workings focus on the SITUATION, rather than the actual person, to dispell the negative forces at work and fill it instead with light. My bad for not being more clear, I sometimes forget that others have different ideas about what certain spells entail, and I apologize for that. :)

This is what I did, and my focus was primarily on protection for those living in that area and on drawing information to the enforcement agencies to find what they needed in order to catch whoever was doing this.

I for one am extremely glad that it now appears they have caught the ones responsible. Now it's time for a thanksgiving offering to all the powers that be.

Blessed Be.

Welcome, Wintersong, and Merry Meet!

Your desire to help in this horrendous situation is admired and shared by all of us here, I think. But, speaking for myself, I have learned to do only passive magick, having experienced in spades the Three-fold Law....
Be careful in your Workings, My Friend, no matter how well intended....
Blessed Be, (((((((((Wintersong)))))))))

I believe that binding someone from doing harm is not black magic, and in fact, to do nothing to stop evil is irresponsible.

"All that is necesary for Evil to succeed is for Good people to do nothing."

Starhawk has a very straightforward binding spell in good ol' Spiral Dance that has done me yeoman service many times.
