merry meet everyone!
i have been in and out of the craft since i was 14

recently i have been needing some simple but affective protection and binding spells. i do not intend any harm to anyone, i just want to keep my enemies away and protect my loved ones and me.
i dont have alot of supplies so if you know of any simple spells that don't involve alot of supplies i would be eternally grateful.

thank you for any help you can give
blessed be

Greetings and blessings to you :shift:

I'm not sure how long I've been into to pagan stuff but it is a while. I can't offer any spells or anything as I've never tried any of that stuff  However I think that you can worship in your own way without always needing a spell. Surely spells work more on the strength of your convinction than the words of power or whatever

Feeling positive, and keeping a practical eye on protecting yourself and loved ones helps too I think.

I wish blessing of protection and satefy upon you and your family :heartthro

As for the protection and binding spells.. binding spells, to me, usually do intend sort-of harm on the person it's being cast upon. It directly interferes with their will.. so I'd just stick with the protection spells. ;)

That's just me, but that's all I have!

I agree with Loki, binding spells can backfire if not done properly. If you really feel you must do that type of working, Starhawk has one in The Spiral Dance that is very simple and effective. It involves the use of a poppet and one can be made from either fabric or wax.

**Soft smile** I use visualization and energy magick for most of my stuff. . . so my own way of raising a protection is to envision a globe of energy around the area or persons I want to protect. The color or texture of the sphere can affect its behavior in response to whatever energy hits it. . . :) be creative.

As far as a binding, something similar can work in this situation. Simply wrap a reflective shield around the other person, which simply absorbs any negative energy sent out from her.

I don't know your circumstances, but you'll probably be able to get by with just the protection. I've only felt compelled to bind an individual once - in the case of my ex-wife, while in the midst of our divorce, to get her to leave me alone.

Do a search for shielding etc. here at MW (if you need help let us know). There are many threads on it.

a little secondary note that popped into my head - if you're binding someone, specifically, and using your energy to bind them. . . that's leaving a little tie-line to you. In effect, you might end up binding them to yourself, or giving them an easier access to your energy.

I'm with Phoenix Blue. Most of my workings are visualization, or run on instinct. I like the ideas he suggested :) Also. . . follow your instincts on it. I cannot stress this enough. If you have a thought, and it feels like the right thing to do, do so. Be cautious, be careful, but always follow your heart, do what you feel is right.
