Does anyone know if there are any SPECIFICS on writing spells? Like are there any things that are required for a spell to work? Please, if you have any information or know of someplace where i could get true, great information online about this, it would be a big help!
Thanks!

To do a spell all you have to have is a) an intent, Will, a specific goal and b) focus. Make a point of deciding a specific goal, then find the mind keys or correspondences that help you focus on it.

Anything beyond that is just "extra".

I wrote a simple post on it (as Myst) awhile ago, you can find it at - http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4442

Myst-Raevyn is right, the intent is extremely importatant. There are variabls though.

As a witch, I follow the Wican Rede and fully believe in the "Harm to none" rule of three. I also try to have my spells rhyme. Which is another "Wiccan" tradition.

A lot of what you are asking, depends on which path you follow!

I agree, intent is more than half of what's required to make spells "work." A very basic, inexpensive, excellent book is Amber K's True Magick. It's a classic and still sells for about $4.95. I also like Silver RavenWolf's To Ride A Silver Broomstick for basic information.

You can design very complicated and intricate spells and you can also do them with nothing but your own mind and energy.

Also, keep in mind that you may not see results immediately or in the way that you expect.

I believe energy manipulation is an almost required thing. If you can actually manipulate energy, eg, being able to move energy around your body, and actually feel it, it can give your spells a big boost.

I also think that the intent together with a combination of the "right" moment and some correspondancies are the things which get the ball rolling.

Intent and Will.

When I first found my path, like most, I had no or few tools.
I felt I needed a protection spell.
I preformed it with nothing but visulation.
I my mind I burned a black candle that emitted a ball of protection around me and my family,
while that candle was burning I pictured the person that was trying to harm us fading, with no harm to her, into her own little world.
I've had no further problems, except on the rare occasion I miss her. She had mislead me to believe she was a friend. :(

I found this outline online that may help you in writing and performing spells. Here is the link

Hope this helps.

I also feel that absolute knowledge that your spell will work is a must, this goes far beyond faith. For example, people who can perform telekenisis (sp?) don't sit there thinking 'MOOOOOVE, come on, MOOOOVE you stupid thing.' They simply move it, the same as one moves an arm, you do not think, you just do.

Time to quote Yoda: Do or do not, there is no try.
