I was trying to figure out where the halloween image of a witch came from, what folklore. And I stumbled across this site. Read the first part but also read the response after the article. I give kudos to this company for including this response in a positive light. I also giev kudos to the author for being able to write what he did in such a way that let the site and viewers know what he felt and believed without really offending anyone.

Thanks for posting this. Yes, the person who wrote the reply really kept it together in his letter, and the website did present the letter in a positive way. Too bad all of the letters they said they received didn't persuade them to post something about Hallowe'en and witches that was accurate and based on actual research rather of something based on stereotypes. :ugh:

I don't consider Samhain and Halloween to be the same thing even though they are on the same day. Ya know. I think of Halloween as the Christian thing and Samhain to be the Pagan thing.
