So when I'm sitting here in this chair and singing a song/chant my friend sent me, it doesn't take long for me to kind of..well, I don't really know what's going on, so that's why I'm going to ask you guys.
What happens is I start to feel heavy and my head kind of goes back..and when I open my eyes, all they really do is stare. Is this some kind of trance or what?
It confuses me cause this kind of happens when I'm trying to meditate as well.

The first time I did the song, this didn't happen at all. What happened then was there was kind of a rush of well, I want to say energy but I don't quite know. I'd never felt anything like that before, and it was quite beautiful and well, I started crying. lol.
Sadly though, I haven't had that same energy since then. :(

It sounds like you are daydreaming, trancing, meditating. The three are very similar. You feel kind of butterfly like in your stomach, or that strange sort of good feeling when you yawn?

That is meditation/trance. Don't be scared of it, it's a good thing. very natural part of human bodies. Not being asleep or being fully alert but being something :).

It sounds like the first stages of gnosis to me, which is a perfect state for trancework, journeying, and energy work. Your are very lucky that a simple chant gets you to this state. It takes me and others quite a bit more effort. I would recommend using chanting for meditation and inner workings since it works so well for you.

Blessings and good luck!

Thank you for your replies!
Toby, usually after I'm done I end up feeling like a just woke up, and so I end up stretching afterwards. lol.
