Pretty much do research read books ask people as specific of questions as you can about what they believe and where they got their information from. Keep gaining information and you'll know when you've found your path.

Hello (((My Dear)))) and Welcome. I told you you'd love it here;)
(((Everyone))) this is my husband, Grey_Bear. :D

I believe what he was trying to say was....he has always believed that there was something more for him out there as far as learning about Paganism, but he is having a hard time deciding witch path to follow. (heh heh, ya get that..."witch"...he he...ok, nevermind..lol) anyways, I pointed him to the MW board where his questions can be answered.
I think that, he feels with him being a dominant 52 yr old male that he feels he is having a hard time fitting in to any certain path. But like you all suggested.....read read read, do the research. One can never stop learning;)

Or you might end up practicing a mix, as I do. I've felt drawn to and have studied Wicca, Asatru and Native American spirituality and practice aspects of all of them. My approach is a bit like "take what you need and leave the rest."
