I just saw on the news about several wildfires in Australia and wanted to say I hope everyone is safe!

I just heard on the news that there are over 100 houses lost, and at least 25 dead. There are 11 separate fires in Victoria, most were delibriatley lit.
I live in NSW (the next state up) but my dad - a voulenteer firefighter, was asked to go down in a strike team for a week. I'm so glad he couldn't get the time off work. During the 2001 fires, he was out fire fighting for weeks, but a least that was close to home... It's more than a little scary.

So, to anyone in Vic, hope you're okay.

That is so scary!! I hope our Aussie family members check in. Philo is on.. so we know she is OK.

Happens every year... but usually not this bad.

Victoria had a wicked heat wave for a the week or so... I can has global warming?

Yeah he's fine, he couldn't get the time off work, so he's not going down to help.

I wish there was a way to catch the people who lit the fires though.
