Greetins! Let me start off by telling you a little about me. Well, more like a little about my religious background. For starters, I was born into a Roman Catholic family, but several years down the road, I just got sick of all that 'stand, sit, kneel' nonsense. Now, for the past several years, I've been trying to find a religion more suitable to my liking. The most common thing I've noticed, is all the churches I've looked into, pretty much tell you what to do, how to do it, and what you should believe in. That's not me. I am an individual! I've, since I can remember, have always liked doing things my way. I really have no tolerance for authoritative figures. Also, I am bisexual, and several of the churches I've looked at have a hard time accepting me for who I am.

I am totally new to this. New, as in I just starting reading some FAQ's on your religion. I still plan on reading about the history of Paganism, beliefs & practices, and just about anything I can get my dirty asain paws on. I know this next statement doesn't mean much, but I've always had a love for the nature surrounding me and I have a love for the arts, mainly poetry.

In conclusion, I guess you can say I'm lost, but learning as I go. If any of you have any advice or guidance for me as I walk your path, please get back to me. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

It helps to have some specific questions to start with. You can put keywords in the search field or post threads with your questions. You might also want to check the Books forum for recommended reading. And there's also a forum on The History. You'll find lots of helpful folks here.

Advice - research and think as much as possible. Don't worry about labelling yourself or being "on the right path", do research and figure out your own opinions, and beliefs. Look for what fits your beliefs rather then trying to fit into a label - this is about finding your own way and learning the beliefs you know in your heart and your mind. As you learn you will grow and change always - this path is about a journey, not a destination, and don't be afraid to learn about ways that aren't your own.

Hello and welcome!

I can't really offer any more advice than what's already been given except to say: if you truly are interested in Nature-based religions, don't just look in books or online (and when you use these methods, be very very critical. ANYONE can write a book or build a website. That doesn't make the information on it true or right), go outside and talk to Nature Herself. Sit in a tree and listen to what it has to say or talk to an animal. That's the best advice I've ever been given.
