Good Question!
I think you get to know yourself as you search and travel your path.
You'll learn things about yourself as you go. Things you had no inkling of and things you thought you might have know. Some things you'll find will be pleasantly surprising and others will shock you.
As you learn these things I think you will find peace as well.
Because life is always changing you will never fully know yourself because like all things around you - you are always changing. But as you get to know yourself you will learn to be comfortable with yourself and with the changes as well.:)

I don't really know myself!

I keep discovering new aspects to "me" every day. And I change every day. *smiles* All I can really do is to be me. . . though I am not sure who she is sometimes ;)

I'm not sure if you can ever truly know yourself... you keep changing all the time so there's always new stuff to know!

Personally, I don't truly want to know myself all the way through.. if I do.. what else is there to know?

hm. I dunno. I think I do. But like everyone else, I agree that truly knowing yourself is almost an impossible task due to us constantly changing.

I agree with all the other responses and wish to add this:

I take "know thyself" to mean several things, such as things you react badly to, what things you hate, and how can you work on that? Same with the things you love, do you treat them lovingly? These kinds of things really require you to search your brain and heart, and that is an important part of knowing thyself.

Know thyself means work to know who you are, what fits, and what you endeavour to do. It isn't about knowing everything about yourself today, but about always striving to become the best person you can be - always growing, thinking, learning, and processing ideas, feelings, thoughts, goals, etc. Know thyself is not a goal to achieve today, but a journey for you to pursue through life.
