I just need a place to "squee" and figured this was the right forum :)
My OH and I are moving in together, and we were planning on just moving into my tiny house (one downstairs room, one bedroom just big enough for a double bed and one single bedroom with no room to swing a cat). But then I noticed THIS house on rightmove (see attached)
We went for a viewing today and 20 minutes later we paid the holding fee to take the property off the market. It's ours! We are going to the letting agents on Tuesday morning to finalise everything.
The only kicker is that in March, we will probably have to pay the rents on both places, as we have a two-month notice period on this property, and the letting agents are refusing to hold the new property beyond a four-week period.
Aaaaanyway I don't wish to dwell on that gloomy thought.
The house has got 3 bedrooms, including a small box room where my OH can have his drum kit (on the side of the house with no neighbours). It is semi-detached. There are 2 rooms downstairs, a living room with a bay window and a really large second downstairs room, currently being used as a dining room, which I will be turning into my library. There is also a BATH! Which is ZOMGZ as my current property has only got a shower room. I haven't had a bath in about 2 years!
We also have a garden with two ponds, a garage, and driveway.
The best thing about it is that for me it only works out £12.50 a month more expensive than my current house, which is TINY. For my partner, who was previously living in a city-centre flat, it's actually a decrease in rent.
I will post pics after we move in.
I'm so happy that we found what we were looking for, and so close by (it is only a 5 minute walk away from where we are now) so it is still convenient for everything, ie work and such.
Most of all, I am looking forward to having a new start with my lovely boyfriend, as I initially moved in here with my ex. That was a pretty terrible relationship, and I'd rather just start fresh with none of those associations, ya know?
Here's to a fresh start in our lovely new home. SQUEE!
