this kinda goes along with the faerie blood in humans thread. This is also a question for the once winged. I'm still a bit new to the concept myself. I got a pair of fae wings at part city, the big ones (blue and purple and silver glitter butterfly). I was flitting all around my apartment with them on, didn't even occur to me to take them off when I couldn't get throught my little "hall area" or into my closet. I just used my feet to get what I wanted. I got angel ones too, but somehow, they are just wrong. In RL too, the straps are 5x too big. Anyways, I took the fae wings off, but felt weird without them, so I put them back on. This is embarrasing, but once, I put them on upside down  (I wore them shorter part at the bottom) I had to stand up super straight so they wouldn't "get friendly" with my shoulders. They also seemed a bit too small. (Crap I'm leaning over, why am I leaning over?) (anywaaaays). Anyways, okay here's the thing, it's been like, more than 5 hours sense I took them off last, and I can still feel them, and I can see them out of the corners of my eyes, a bit different, but they're there. I CAN SEE THEM! eh, well I could, I think I've concentrated on it too, nope, they're still there.
*well that was my most "interesting" post to date*Does anyone else do this/ have this 'problem'?

Well, kind of.
I'm still not sure what I think of the whole wings thing. Bands of energy, actual physical wings, manifestations of how we view ourselves, residue from worming through the tunnels that are our lives, et cetera. Whatever it is that they are, I don't think we should worry about so much as what we can do about it, sometimes. I've felt myself as having feathered wings upon my back in the past, and I don't think it's just me. I've practiced opening them up like one would a chakra almost, and people have definately noticed.
I can kind of see them as being a metaphor, but at the same time, very real. Then again, I'm into dream work, so metaphor and reality sometimes blend easily for me.
This probobly doesn't help at all, but I hope it helps some to know other people have similar situations. ^_^;;

well it's not the wings that truely confuze me, it's my mermaid tail! I'm quite adept on walking on two legs, but I'd still rather swim.
Does anyone know of a winged mermaid? I dunno, a transitional stage between siren and mermaid perhaps?
any tips from the other winged ones as to how to get my wings to stop flopping over?
Goddess, this feel weird. I knew I had them, but getting the costume kind sort of made them a bit more real.

yes, I prove it by walking around quite well, and then tripping over the carpet.

I tend to have the wing/tail problem. Sometimes I'll lean back and it'll hurt.. and sometimes it won't. I feel them almost all the time save for when I'm fast asleep. ;) I also feel my tail and have yelped when hubby stepped on it! There was nothing there for my physical eyes to see!
I don't own any little faery wings that you can buy, though I've always wanted a pair.
So.. I feel your pain. :)

I can't feel feel them but I've always known they're there. I'm constantly knocking things over with my wings. Stuff that's like a foot from my grasp falls over. Ooh and once a music box with 2 cherubs on top of it started playing by itself, I hadn't touched it in days, and it just goes off. On my "fishie" side, I do, according to my friend, have a bit of "webbedyness" between my fingers and toes. It was so funny, we were trying to read our palms using my minibook on palmistry, and she's all "well at least MY fingers don't have all that webbedy s__!, That's freaky" Well something along those lines. I'll have to scan my hands and feet for all of your opinions. I don't stare at other people's hands and feet, so this is normal for me.
Does anyone else have days when they just want "out", not outside, but out, like out of your body? I swear somedays I feel like I don't fit.

Promise not to laugh…
Ok, I just took a 3-D art class last semester, and one of our projects was to make a mask, starting with a paper base. The mask also had to be form fitting to your face. Well, the other students made typical human masks. There were a few faeries, sprits, and demon ones. One of the students even made this wonderful bird mask with feathers. Anyway I made mine a wolf mask, complete with fake fur.
Well, (Maren don’t laugh) I really like it, and the first few days after I finished it I would be sitting in my room IMing or E-mailing my friends with it still on. My room-mate laughed at it, but it was Halloween at the time so she didn’t care too much. I still love to wear it, and sort of feel incomplete without it.
On top of that, I have a tail, I mean I know no one else can see it, or feel it, but I can. And I do have the hardest time sleeping on my back because of it. No, I’m not psycho, it’s just that I really think in one of my past lives I was a wolf/fox/dog of some sort.
So I have no problem believing you Maren, because I know just how you feel. Perhaps you use to be a mermaid with wings at one point. My mom use to think that I was a mermaid once too, I love water, and when I started to learn how to swim I refused to kick my legs, instead I would keep them together like a mermaid’s tail would be.
Now you promised not to laugh! I know it sounds weird, but it is true, and that is my two cents in on that topic.

I know how you feel! I usually can feel then and can't stand to sleep on my back. But for some reason I feel like they are firery...hence my name.

MM all,
Well I must admit for some time I thought that I was seeing things when I first relized that I have wings. A friend sent this to me and I must say I am happy to know I am not alone. MM to you all my winged friends :-)
Blessed Be Well
