Today when I was in school, we got an announcement over the intercom about a tragedy that took place right across the street from us at the University of Arizona...

It's so weird being so close to something and being totally oblivious... they made two announcements about it telling us to stay on campus and away from the U...

I kinda know how you feel... The uni I was visiting over the weekend had had a stabbing happen earlier in the week (I think 3 days before I left). It happened right above my friend's room, which was even more creepy. *sigh*

Louisiana State University has had a serial killer stalking the women. As far as I know he hasn't been caught, and it's been going on for some months now. I believe the body count is something like four or five.

The Mayor: "Callahan, I don't want you having any trouble like you did in the Fillmore District last year. Do you understand? That's my policy."

Callahan: "Yeah, well, when a man is chasing a woman with intent to commit rape, I shoot the bastard. That's my policy."

The Mayor: "Intent? How did you establish that?"

Callahan: "When a naked man is chasing a woman down an alley with a butcher knife and a h***-on, I figure he isn't out collecting for the Red Cross."

It's interesting though how many things get publicity and how many don't... I just heard on NPR (Goddess bless NPR ;)) that here in Tucson some lady from Pima College (dunno if it's the campus near my house or the other one) got dismembered in the last like... month or two... they found her arms in a dumpster...

... I don't remember how the rest of that story went, come to think of it. :eek: I hope they got him...
