I bought sea salt today and I've got a couple of questions...

#1 Do I need to purify it or charge it in any way to be used for ritual or cleansing?

#2 What is an ideal container to keep it in?

I'll most likely have a few more questions as they come...But at the moment I can only think of these 2.

Hmm... well, I can't think of any reason to...

Tupperware, zip lock baggie... something that's air tight to keep moisture out...

The best would be an airtight glass container.

I blessed and charged mine, but you really dont have to. Personally, if I've purchased anything from a retail outlet, I prefer to purify, bless and charge it for the simple reason that I do not know who has handled it, or what energies may have been near it. Granted, sea salt is generally 'self-cleaning', but I prefer to not take chances.

For storage, I store mine in a dry, blackened glass jar so that artificial light does not influence it.

I store mine in a blue canning jar and I didn't bless or charge it. Of course, I've never thought about doing that though . . . :)

I picked my up at a local grocer. I was just curious on the matter. I think the purifying and charging is a good idea. Now to just find the time.

I don't charge my salt but I will bless it before putting it in the container.
I keep mine in a jar. I think it was salsa jar at one time. Sometimes I pick out a jar, then when it's empty I clean it real good and paint the top.
I've got lots of jars like that that hold herbs, candle drippings, rain water, etc.

I have a habbit of collecting all sort of jars such as that. Mostly to store up loose beads I buy in bulk. Sometimes that funny cardboard seal in the lid falls out so they work out great for that purpose. I also hit the Dollor stores and look for sealable containers. (love them type of stores) I tend to use those containers for herbs, incense, and the like in those. They carry a good selection at times, and other times not. It really depends. I tend to get new jars for stuff like this and charge it myself to use for one purpose. Chances I won't be using it for anything else.
