I have to write a paper about the Kabbalah in popular American culture. Do you know any good books and web sites that you can recommend that could contain some info on this subject? I'm thinking mostly about something I can find online and don't have to pay for :p .

I know there are Qabalistic references in Lary Niven's Amber books -- specifically the Merlin Chronicles, when a Hermetic tries to kill him. There are specific descriptions of a picture of the Qabalistic tree of life, etc.

Also, much of Katherine Kurtz's stuff is full of them.

I susspect The Hunchback of Notre Dame was, as well, but it's been too many years since I read it... and I would never have recognized anything like that back when I read it. Besides -- I'd hardly call that popular American culture. :-)
