What is The Atheist Experience?

The Atheist Experience is a weekly cable access television show in Austin, Texas, geared at an atheist and non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin (ACA), a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.

Sorry for being so simple, but I feel that marriage doesn't really mean a whole lot anymore. Its supposed to be about an everlasting commitment yet its so easy to get out of it and so many of these "commitments" are broken anyway.
Why are people trying to defend this "institution"? its old fashioned and the statistics show it. If people want to commit to each other then great! But release it from the boundaries of law and let those who wish to commit, do so.http://www.dineoxford.com/pics/img/2657/y09w0131xdtc/82(2).gif

The institution of marriage has changed so much, anyway. Now it is based on love, and we know how fragile that commitment is with the ease of whimsical marriages and divorce.

Yeah, these are my thoughts on the whole gay marriage debate...

Why Gay Marriage is WRONG (or When Logic Fails)

Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.

Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall. Or hanging out with black people will get you a better tan.

Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

Plus, Gay marriage killed the dinosaurs! DUH!

I hope this explains everything.... :smileroll
