Astrology is a really elegant language that can describe complicated human behavior and experience. It is like a 34 letter "alphabet" (10 planets + 12 houses + 12 signs = 34) of core concepts. Of course, hundreds of thousands of combinations become possible, making Astrology a difficult subject to master because it's capable of so much variety. If we reduce these 34 core concepts to just a few key words each, then it becomes a little easier to make astrological "sentences" in order to interpret a chart. Here's how it works:

The Planets represent WHAT energy is operating, the Zodiac Signs describe HOW that energy gets modified and the Houses show WHERE in life it happens.

But wait, we can further simplify the 34 letters down to 12 main principles by associating each Sign with a planet and house that have similar meanings. Astrology calls it rulership. You could also call it the prototype zodiac. The table at the bottom of this page is the result.

Once you have a chart done, you can look up the planet, sign and house in Keywords and put it all together!
