Good Luck/Bad Luck

Anyone have some suggestions for encouraging good luck, banishing negative luck?

My roomies and I have been wrestling with some bouts of crappy luck for a while now. Seems like every time we get the least bit settled and things smooth out, something wacks us again.

*sighs and shrugs*

I was thinking maybe a cleansing ritual for the house after Samhain and thought to add something about drawing good luck to us?

Honestly a lot of this seems like just backsplash on me and Mely...it's poor Nallia who keeps getting the brunt of things. She really deserves a break.

Any suggestions?

You've got mail.

This is one of my favorites. The others sent were gleaned from my BOS and stuff I was sent.

To Banish Negative Forms From Your Home

Begin with a purification bath. Light the twin candles on the altar and burn
a protective and/or
cleansing incense.
Fill your chalice with fresh water (be sure to consecrate it) and blessed
salt. Kneel or assume the
Goddess
position as you say:

_ "Naked come I into this sanctuary
_ With love and faith
_ From those who have gone before.
_ Innocent am I in understanding
_ Holy and pure in my love of all good and blessed things.
_ Supreme Goddess, ruler of light,
_ Lord of all
_ Hear my prayer,
_ Help me now to dispell this thing of unholiness
_ This creature of darkness,
_ Who dooms itself to shame and unhappiness.
_ Save him if it is thy will to do so.
_ Send him to the light.
_ Mercy is the song I sing;
_ Forgiveness the word most precious.
_ In thy everlasting grace I say this.
_ In humility I ask this.
_ So mote it be."

Take up the chalice of salt-water, face the east wall, dip your fingers
intothe water, raise your
hand and say:

_ "Powers of the East
Powers of the daystar rising
_ And all fresh beginnings
_ I purify you with salt and with water
_ For good vibrations of friendship warmth and love."

Then sprinkle some extra water and proceed to the south. Say:

_ "Powers of the South
_ Powers of the summer sun
_ Which warms our bodies and our minds
_ I purify you with salt and with water
_ For good vibrations of friendship, warmth and love."

Repeat in the west:

_ "Powers of the West
_ Powers of the purifying and cleansing waters
_ From which all life comes.
I purify you with salt and with water
_ For good vibrations of friendship, warmth and love."

Repeat in the north:

_ "Powers of the North
_ Powers of the earth, the ground
_ On which we stand.
_ I purify you with salt and with water
_ For good vibrations of friendship, warmth and love."

Then proceed around the room sprinkling water over all the
thresholds,windows, and doorways and in
all
corners. REPEAT IN EVERY ROOM.

Add more incense to the burner, take up, and do the same thing, using the
same verses substituting
"fire and air"
doorways,
and in all corners. REPEAT IN EVERY ROOM.

Take the fire candle (or a candle for this purpose) and your athame and,
starting at the door or
entrance, walk
slowly CLOCKWISE through the house, through each room pausing at each door,
window, and mirror and
moving the candle across it, also pentagramming each window, doorway, and
mirror with the athame.
Proceed
room by room spiralling clockwise. All the while chant the following:

_ "By the One Power
_ I hereby consecrate this space
_ To the Goddess and the God,
_ According to free will
_ And for the good of all;
_ I hereby release,
_ In all time and all space,
Any negative cause, effect, manifestation, form or essence,
_ Any negative event, thought, energy, idea or vibration,
_ And transform it to
_ And replace it with
_ Only positive, joyous good
_ In keeping with the Universal harmonies
_ Of the Goddess and the God.
_ This space is divinely protected
_ This space is perfectly safe.
_ Nothing and no one can enter this space
_ Unless I (or my loved ones) allow them to.
_ This space is sacred
_ Consecrated and dedicated to positive living
_ For myself and my loved ones
_ And for the work of positive magic.
_ No harm can come to this space, or anyone in it."
_ "Only good can enter here
_ No negatives can enter
_ All harm is sealed out."

When you are back at the entry point conclude:

_ "Love lives here
_ Health lives here
_ Abundance lives here
_ (Name self and loved ones) live here
_ We claim this space for ourselves, for the mutual good
_ And so mote it be!"


It's a little heavy handed in some places, but overall pretty adaptable. Best of luck.

Did you perform any cleansing rituals with the "new" house? Or did this dark cloud show up before the move?(You never let on if it did)

Check the astrology forum. Although Mercury is no longer retro, Venus is and it's my understanding that things will be better around mid-November.

May I point out to you without offending you that you're starting to believe that you're having bad luck, thereby creating the energy to attract it to yourself. You might want to work on changing your thought patterns.

I've been working on that very thing Freyja I've been having major swings in "luck." I'll have three or four super days and then three or four or more nasty days where thing just keep hitting me out of the blue (today I had to have a student arrested :rolleyes: )

But I think it's partly my frame of mind and my approach to these crappy situations that is making them so worse than they have to be. Then it's my extreme relief that makes the highs so good and the only way to go is down. If that makes sense. Thought patters are extremely hard to change though.

I hope it works out Wanderer, Mely and Nallia and you see some brighter days. :)

The funny thing about the new house, Lyn....it's only four years old or so, and the guy who lived in it before didn't leave any "residue" behind. It was the cleanest house, energy-wise, I've ever been in. *laughs* Even the basement, where it seems to me negative energy collects, was clean.
But we still did a cleansing on it and put up wards.

I've worked really hard to not fall into that "negative luck" trap. Things haven't been all that bad really. *sighs and shrugs* It's just now it seems that everytime we get things to smooth out for a bit and everyone breaths a sigh of relief....WHAMO!...we get nailed again.
But, hey, isn't that just life? *wry grin* Like Danus said....when you're high, there's no where to go but down.

I think mostly I'm worried about Nallia....she's been through so much in the past year, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. She's just tired...and that's when you can start to wonder what you're doing wrong. *shrugs*

I had a discussion with Albie one time about energy patterns. We felt that when one's energy became low it would try to replenish itself by pulling in what energy it could find~good or not good~energy was energy. Maybe Nallia is feeling something similar? At that time Albie was having trouble with a lot of negative energy being pulled to her. If she hadn't just moved and been out of touch for last couple of weeks I'd ask her what she did. I remember she vented alot, didn't keep it in. And of course, bolstering herself with positive and nurturing things helped fill the space so that the negative was left without any room for entry.
I'll look into it. I'll see if Lunacie remembers those times, too. She's
pretty empathic herself.:thumbsup: Hang in there.

I do believe in good and bad luck. Freyja made an excellent point: if you believe that you are having bad luck, bad energy will enter your life. In my mind, I believe this statement; however, it is so easy to place blame and think, "I'm just in a period of bad luck at the moment. This luck will pass." Thank you for reminding me, Freyja, to think positive so bad energy won't lurk around. Also, WandererinGray, have you thought about balancing your chakras? Perhaps your chakras are out of balance.
