An old acquaintance of mine made a necklace // meditation string and it had a certain number of stones on it for all 5 elements... and the stones corresponded with the element. It was to aid in meditation. I guess like a pagan rosary.. (not sure what a rosary is, but I think its the same idea).

anyone know of these? I have wanted to make one but haven't been able to find them anywhere...

Oooo (((Shnenz))) you got my mind working on this one....
I think they're beautiful, and am thinking of making one myself....I'm not sure how you can make one with removable stones unless you wrap wire around each one, or make each stone with a wire through it then a closure clasp on it, like a charm bracelet....hmmmm
Check out these beautiful rosaries:)

We made something similar in our Women's Circle. We cast circle, put some meditative music on, got the beads and other charms and made necklaces using items and colors that had significance for us. This was a wonderful meditative experience and the necklaces we made have strong energy and power.

I made my own Brisingamen, with beads symbolizing the things that I want to work on spiritually and a pewter Thor's Hammer charm in the center. I keep this necklace with my runes and wear it for special rituals.

There are also Goddess Prayer Beads. http://members.tripod.com/~RavenSilverwing/make/beads.html

Three Kindred's Prayer Beads:
http://druidry.org/obod/text/eisteddfod/offerings/druiddevotional.html

I think both are similar to the wiccan prayer beads. I made 2 sets of beads. One set was red, orange and yellow and the other set was green, blue and purple. I used them to focus on my chakras....cleansing and strenthening them....etc, during meditations. I just got a little creative! ;)

Rhyla, that is the best link ever. I have become addicted to those little stretch bead bracelets, and like VB said, the craft stores have so little to work with and our "one" bead store likes to see your mortgage increase to pay for their supplies.......... It's on my favorites list now!

I found that bead supplier through my mother. She got a catalog from them and didn't know why. So she passed the catalog onto me and I've been ordering from them since. I'm getting ready to place an order for some moonstone beads as well as a few other things as well and make me a necklace and a pedulum. I can't wait for it to get here.

Here's one place that I love...she's also in Canada so your shipping will be less...

That Beadlady (http://www.thatbeadlady.com/home.html)

Another place that has great stuff for crystal and semi precious gemstone beads is Capilano Rock and Gems here in Vancouver. Unfortunately, I don't think they have a website.
