for the past 10 months I have been feeling intense sexual energies that stay around the sacral chakra...it feeling is just like before orgasm...very good mind you but different for me..have never felt these energies without actual sexual contact before, or without fantasizing....well after a lot of *gratification* I have come to realise...this intense energie is not about sex at all....the area of energies is about 6" x4" and it is intense and no amount of *gratification* was lessening it...I have been using this to experiement....I am getting quiet and pulling the sexual feeling energies up...and then trying to hold it there...it is weird when I do this I can feel energies from the top of my spine going downwards trying to meet this energy that now pulled up to my sacral chakra...I have not yet felt them meet...was just wondering if any one knows what this is or has experienced it themselves..?????Have no idea what this is:weirdsmilor what or why I am tryin this....awk

I went to a reader several years ago, and was experiencing these "feelings". Also I would have these energy surges, not hot flashes but they would start from my solar plexus chakra and surge upward, hard to describe. She flat out said your starting menopause. She was right.. LOL go figure.
I do think its more than hormones, I think as we go from one phase in our lives physically we also ascend spiritually. I still experience the energy surge sometimes, not like before,but not the other sexual feeling, I should say it has evened out.

I live in the country so as soon as I get to a place that is big enough to do it I will get my nose peirced...am going to a city tommorrow..will find out if they do it.....I will definately tell ya when I get it...

I have not experienced this yet, but I think BR is correct as I have heard other women speak about this around the beginning of their menopausal period.

We seem to become much more in tune with our bodies as we age than when we were rushing around trying to change the world and fighting those worthy causes and making our marks on the world.

I have come to see the sacral chakra as more connected to feminine sexual energies (with the more instinctive root chakra connecting more to the masculine sexual energies). The sacral chakra is, after all, connected to feelings of all kinds, and sex involves lots of feelings (especially for women). Physical feelings, yes; your skin is the largest organ in your body, and sexual stimulation happens in part through your skin. Emotions are involved, as are visualizations; each of our individual sexual response patterns involve unique emotions and pictures. But there is also a heck of a lot of energy being raised during sex, and you don't have to formally initiate sex and bring it to a conclusion to feel the effects of those energies.

Within the concept of sacred sex, an awareness of the different stages of arousal (Excitement, Plateau, Orgasm and Resolution) is a good thing, and this awareness allows you to very effectively make use of the energies you are raising. It sounds as if your energy field is "remembering" the nice feelings of sex. Perhaps you are in part noticing these sensations because you have been working on connecting more with your personal energy field?

The hot flashes happen in part because your chakras are connected to the different glands that work to control the flow of hormones through your body, and when you open and clean and balance your chakras, your hormone levels either surge or ebb, depending upon what is needed to balance your system. Hormonal fluctuations are the cause of hot flashes in menopause as well, but you don't have to be a Crone to experience them.

I'm just throwing ideas out there, but isn't it cool to know that there could be both physiological and energy field explanations for what you are experiencing?

I find it interesting that I am going through the time when my Moontime is lessening...maybe every 4-5 month...I found the quote about they way that women loose chi is through menstration and child birth... interesting... it is highly possible that because of my time of life, I am not loosing the chi.....and not understandiing this, I did not know what to do with the accumulating energies...

It is so interesting that it can be physiological and energy field explanations.....Now it will be interesting to see what happens when I start working with this energy, pulling it upwards etc....instead of just ..you know

LOL, I don't ignore manflesh either, Sleepycat. We need to hear from both men and women to received balanced information.

There are many descriptions of the energy flows, but I have been taught that the kundalini energy goes both upward and downward, depending upon where you are focusing. I learned that the masculine, Ida, or governor channel flows upward and the feminine, Pingala or conception channel flows downward. These are the two channels that you are working with when you perform the Microcosmic orbit.

I have also been taught that if you visualize your chakras spinning in opposite directions (alternating the direction of the spin), you can achieve a continuous flow of the two channels, which will cross each other between the chakras due to the spinning directions of the chakras. In other words, if you open your root chakra and visualize it spinning counter-clockwise, eventually the energy will start your sacral chakra spinning clockwise, and so on with each chakra. The energy will move along the outside of each chakra and then, following the energy flow, will cross the center line and go to the other side as it moves past the next chakra up the line (which is spinning in the opposite direction of the chakra above and the chakra below). If you visualize this energy flow, you will see the "snake" of the kundalini. I experience this connection most mornings, when I open and clean and balance my chakras.

*grin* But that is what I was taught, and I am sure that you will find differing descriptions of the number of channels and the direction of the energy flows. I was taught that you can make the energy move in any direction, but that it is easier to "go with the flow" so to speak.

I am not well versed in the intricacies of Tau sexual practices, but I do know that performing sex with awareness can create incredible sensations. I have experienced full body orgasms when I can maintain this awareness throughout the levels of sexual arousal, but as you can expect, sometimes it just does not work that way. I have had some interesting light manifestations within my aura when I am able to maintain focus.

Interesting thought, regarding the approach of menopause. That makes sense, because when we are of child bearing age (and especially when we have children), much energy is projected outward, to our families. As we grow older and our children become emancipated (and our moons gradually become less frequent), we tend to focus inward with renewed strength. This could be a logical explanation.

The same happens often for men as they get older. Sexual activity still happens (I can attest to that *smile), but sometimes while orgasms retain their intense sensations, the amount of ejaculate can lessen.

Sparkles....I want to share my first spiritual experience with you...I have no idea what the *actual energy experience was* I know the path it led me down.. yet the actual energy moving through me still puzzles me today...I can feel energies moving in both directions...maybe not the same as you yet the intensity of this first one WAS OFF THE CHARTS in comparison to all other energy work I have felt...

I was a big game hunter...I shot a bear...I was talking to my friend and she said *short version* I read once about a Power Animal..maybe the bear is your Power Animal...the moment these words left her mouth...I felt energy move through the floor through my feet...slowly moving up my body...the hairs on my body were standing on end...the intensity was like WOW...the energy moved to the top of my head....till the point I was going to pass out....then it slowly dissapated back down my body and out my feet back into the floor/ground

I also recognize this as kundalini rising, kundalini rises and nourishes the nervous system, scatters if you're not prepared for it, or it will stay balanced if you work with it, and if you're fully aware of the energy.

Mera, indeed I have also found that the energy will scatter if you are not prepared. Kundalini rises, but if you work with your chakras, you can get it to cycle upward and back down, and then back upward again. It is an incredible feeling to get the energy moving like that.

FairySpirit, your totem or power animal could very well be Bear. Have you done any research on the metaphysical meanings of Bear? You can probably do an internet search using the words "totem animal" or "power animal" and "bear"; I might have some stuff also, and if I do, I will let you know. I do know that Bear is quite powerful, because he seems to have the ability to "die" (to go into his den for the Winter) and then "come back to life" again in the Spring. Quite intense transformative powers, eh?

Sometimes the sensations when you first connect with those energies can be incredible! I know exactly what you are describing; I remember working with a particular spirit guide for the first time. I looked into his eyes and for a moment it felt as if I was plugged into an electrical socket. I can recreate the energy sensations, but most of the time they are indeed less intense than the first time. But not always! Keep working with this.

Also, know that your mind tends to look for patterns in order to understand experiences. *grin* This is why you can look at a shadow and think for a moment that someone is standing in the corner, and then find out when you look again that it is just a plant or a coat hanging on a door. Your mind tries to apply its known patterns to identify shapes that you see. This happens with other sensations besides visual ones. When your mind is experiencing a new sensation, a sensation for which it does not have any pre-existing patterns, the sensations can be quite intense. But again, they can be recreated! The more you seek to recreate them, the easier it will be to do so. Your brain is soft wired, and it will change the way you need it to be, as long as you work at it and practice on a regular basis.

I don't know what this means for you but I have experienced something very similar so I thought I'd tell you what it meant for me. There might be something useful.

I began to experience sensations very much like your description a few years ago. I had been wandering along my path for several years already but I was feeling lost. I felt like lots of energy was welling up in me but not moving properly. I was getting ridiculously emotional and sensitive so I decided to focus on it and sort of purge myself, give myself a spiritual cleansing.

I then started to experience what I too thought was a sexual feeling. It was pretty much constant, I was waking up during the night, it was like nothing I had ever experienced before.

Ever since then (with a lot of thought and meditation) my path and energies have been really focused. I think I changed dramatically when I cleansed myself and I started to feel everything much more clearly. I also had much more focus and clarity.

My own personal feeling is that I had dithered around long enough and was forced into action that would put me on the best path for me. I still get the feelings but I'm in control most of the time. I think its very pure, vibrant energy. Whatever it is I love it.

That timing makes sense to me. You are taking about a time from the weeks before the equinox to the weeks around the solstice; the peak time of fertility in the world. If you are attuned to the energy flows around you, all of your senses may be very responsive, and your thoughts may end up focusing in that direction. *wink*

This definitely makes sense. I strongly identify with mammals in general and their mating season usually starts and rocks out in that same time period. Thank you for sharing that, it made me look at the situation in a whole new light.
