Hey!
Just a question- I know in most instances people make tea from Slippery Elm Bark for mucous break up/congestion/sore throats/colds etc.

Just wondering, has anyone made tincture with it? The reason I ask, is because it would be easier to have this at work, than to make tea at the office, especially because I could make a cup of tea, and then just as fast as I put hot water into it, I get called into a meeting and it sits on my desk for the next 4 hours.

so, just wanted to know if anyone had experience with this, as well as licorice root.

Thanks!

I've never used slippery elm in a tincture, but I foresee a small problem with using one in the workplace. Unless you have a very forgiving boss, the odor of alcohol on your breath might get you fired, tinctures being mainly alcohol based. Unless you have a recipe for them that uses no alcohol? I'd be interested in that. You might try making your tea at home, and bottling it; it will last the day and can be reheated.

I have a decongestant tincture that has slippery elm and licorice root in it, among other things. It works wonderfully well.

you can use Apple Cider vinegar instead of the alcohol, in the same way.

cool! THanks!

I'll give each a try and maybe do a small batch of each as well as one with both and see how they come out
