Other forums have "vent" threads. I thought we needed one too!8O

Will that kid never go to bed. It's really hard for me to find time to read cause there is always someone awake in this house. Hubby goes to bed early so I'm up with the kids. The youngest two fall asleep soon thereafter but the oldest is a night owl. There is nowhere in this house that I can be alone to read. Can't get up early and read cause Hubby is up then.

Just let me scream a bit and I'll be OK!:scream: :scream: :scream:

Hmmm....I know it can get frustrating. ....and trying to read with other's around can be difficult especially if they all want a minute of your time! ;) Well, while your hubby is still awake, could you ask him to watch the kids while you steal 15-30 minutes for some "you" time??

I've just gotten used to reading with my family in the background, asking me questions and coming up and hugging me or trying to play while I read. I don't recommend this for everyone though, at times it can be difficult to concentrate and focus if you aren't used to it. The only time I have "alone" is at work....and then I'm not very along and I can't really read with all my co-workers there...they would all want readings. lol

At one point, I would take a collapsable TV tray into the bathroom with me because it was the only play everyone would leave me alone! lol

*nods* I hear ya both. And if there is a time I might have a few minutes of peace and quiet, the phone rings.

Argh!

Yep! I thought about reading in the open with them but as a beginner I don't feel I could do that! Maybe soon though! This morning Hubby went hunting so I locked myself in our room with my cards.

If we had a bigger house I could send the oldest to his room to watch TV. But we only have 2 bedrooms. We are looking into buying an bigger home in the spring!

Until then I'll just keep screaming!:T

I usually do mine in the middle of the night when I know everyone else is asleep. :T (It's the only time when I don't have people barging into my room to ask for something, or if I've seen this or that) And the cats are asleep, so they're not bugging me, however, Spook loves to be around when I'm reading.

I usually read when everybody else is at work or at school. And even if the house is full, often every one is somewhere else and nobody's bothering me. Well, except for the dog:rolleyes: . He is in the habit of coming in and out of my room and I have to get up and close the door behind him. And if I lock myself he keeps scratching on the damned door:mad: .

Every time we change the clocks, my daily readings ( from England) get screwed up.

Since it is the beginning of a new month I guess I'm gonna have to pull a card a day myself!

thought: all you card a day readers - since you write your cards in a journal (**AHEM**) maybe at the start of each new month we could have a thread were we discuss the card trends that we experienced.

I'll do that right now.

****Starting a new thread****

Great idea, Tarotbear! Um, well, I admit I'm to lazy to write my daily reading interpretations in my journal, but I'm going to make myself do it;) . Or maybe it'd be enough if I only wrote down the name of the card:p .

ok... that was the kick I needed. I haven't been able to do anything at all lately what with work (both paid and personal online stuff), looking after my daughter, trying to find some time with my mom, me closest friend and my boyfriend.... ugh!
But after reading this post and thinking 'hey, sounds like me. I don't get any time either', I realized that there is a window of almost half an hour that I could easily do a reading. During breakfast while I get ready for work! Seeing as I rarely have what people like to call a 'proper breakfast' and Amber's asleep seeing as I usually have to wake her up before I leave for work... I got plenty of time! I'll start tomorrow... now I just gotta remember to keep that journal...

ALRIGHT!
Glad my frustrations could help you!:D
Last night I sent my 14 year old to bed so I could read for a very dear RL friend.
He was none to happy.
But I guess that's what I'm gonna have to do when I feel I MUST read.

I really need a kick to get doing readings.. I mean, it's the WAXING MOON now, I should be wanting to read. Now if only I could get some privacy.......even in the middle of the night.

Now you got anything to help my brain retain things that I want to?! Because I completely forgot to do it....maybe if I started getting proper sleep... but I don't think that'll happen for at least another... let's see... 18-3... fifteen years. :ack:

It's hard to find quiet space for readings even for teens. Either someone is knocking on my bedroom door, calling on the phone, or at the front door. It gets frustrating, so I tend to do readings when I get home before anyone else arrives or after everyone else is in bed. (Which requires me to lose an hour or so of sleep...but I tend to be enough charged to endure.)

I've been drawing a card-a-day for myself lately and it's been going pretty nicely. I am getting a lot of cards relating to the Evil Eye (I use an aleph-bet deck), so I've been doing extra protection rituals and prayers and watching out for my own jealous heart.

AmbivalentMirage - Please take a look a the thread entitled Card A Day Readers - Oct. which Tarotbear started. It's a great way to review your daily draws. It's probably the first time I've reviewed my journal since I started it.

and Kaya....Sleep will come! Rest assured. Just can't tell ya when! My 14 year old is just such a night owl. The younger 2 boys and the Hubby go to sleep early and for the most part stay asleep til morning. But ZR - I've never seen anybody who can stay awake the way he does. Someone is always awake in this house.
A friend spent the night with the youngest. The friends mama called the next morning to see if the kid had nightmares. What she didn't realize was - between Hubby going to sleep early and ZR staying up late - there was only a span of about 3 hours where there wasn't someone awake!:T
Since I'm used to Hubby going to sleep early it's kinda irrating when he stays up late - which he's done for the past 2 nights - now that me feel like screaning too!:scream:

:scream: Why are they awake?:scream:

:scream:When I got up this morning the oldest was sitting up in here! He always sleeps till noon! :scream:

:scream::TThen the middle one wakes up. He always gets up early, but now 2 of them are up.:scream:

:scream:As I was waiting for the posting screen to come up the youngest comes stumbling up the hall. NOW ALL THREE OF THEM ARE UP!:scream:

Hubby went hunting this morning and I was hoping to use this morning to do some nice, quite, uninterupted readings. Now one wants breakfast, the other wants to go shopping, and the youngest wants his coffee - it's actually flavored milk so don't ya'll go spazin' on me! 8O !

Guess I'll have to lock myself in my room. For now, I guess I'll get busy. Talk with ya'll later.

I want to take a moment to join in the screaming - I was looking forward to having one room just for my spiritual work, but since my in laws haven't even gotten anywhere near finishing the house, and the living room is a shambles entirely, half our belongings are stuffed in the spare room, and I'm not comfortable with unpacking all my Pagan goodies because mom-in-law especially is often working throughout the house.

Argh!
