I know this maybe pretty off topic, and may not seem like a big deal to some, but if anyone knew anything about this it would be great..

First.. does anyone know the "laws" for posting pictures up on the internet that aren't yours.. but someone else posted them for everyone to see? Is it against the law? Can I sue if they aren't taken down, and I want them to be?

There are pictures that I have in a file on my computer.. of me and my son, my ex husband, and so on.. I'm guessing (which I have no idea how) that someone hacked or found a way to retrieve my file and posted many pictures of me, one's that I've never even sent to ANYONE before. I don't know about anyone else but I don't like that at all.. I have the link to the website but that's about it..

Does anyone know if this is something I can sue?? It's really bothering me.. but no one else seems to know, and I figured that since the people on this board seem honest I'd give it a shot..

Thanks for any help

Hey Kristina,

You may want to try this site: Find Law (http://www.findlaw.com/)

It's a great legal resource, kind of like a search engine for the legal set.

They break things down into categories for you to make it easier so you may be able to find what you are looking for.

I hope this helps!!!

Good luck--

check with ex husband. and am pretty sure its illegal to post
those pics without permission. Especially children's pictures without
the permission of the legal parent or guardian.

i know that one can get in very big trouble for posting a child's pic without guardian's consent....check that site and find out.
