View Full Version : Obessed Much?

Kaylara
November 4th, 2002, 01:02 PM
I normally count myself lucky that I haven't really had anything that I've obsessed over... (Like my best friend and Star Wars.) But I've been hooked... Inu Yasha... eek... The problem being of course that it's Japanese, written in Japanese, Animated in Japanese, and as fate would have it, I can't speak or read Japanese and the English versions are dumbed down...

So my question is...

What are you obsessed with?

Currently my exboyfriends new wife. Ok..not really obsessed..just really curious. She's an author, and i've been reading her website. Makes me feel stalkeresque. But..I'm not..really. She's cool. He's cool. I wish them happiness. I'm just really curious about her teachings. It's a wierd feeling. Your exboyfriend marries someone of world reknown...strange.

Feet. Don't ask. It's an artistic thing, and I'm always trying to come up with new artistic things to do with the feet...(trust me, you probably don't want to know, and it's probably NOT as wierd as you think)

Candles. BIG OBSESSION. Can't go into a store without buying a ton. Can't resist. No CANT RESIST!!!!!!!!!!

Oh..and current obsessive thought that I can't put out of my head:....

Most of the animal kingdom is designed where the female of the species provides for her young, alone. Many examples of the animal species, including human, is designed that the female of the species is smaller, or physically weaker than males. (less body weight, etc). However, the Feline Species is odd. Especially in the Lion Kingdom, Females are designed "smaller" and yet, they are the hunters. They don't only provide for their cubs, but for the male of the species. Why? If the male is designed stronger/larger, it would make sense that HE would be the hunter, and provide for the female of the species, and the cubs. So what is the point of the male lion being bigger? It doesn't seem to serve a useful purpose, except during mating season, where he may have to compete for the female.

No..there is no philosophical thought or statement behind this, I'm not trying to make any sort of link between the lion species, and human species...I'm just simply trying to figure out why the damned male lion is larger than the female lion..when she does most of the hunting!

Then again..I'm not a zooologist..so..I may be obsessing over this needlessly.

M.H. feiry scorpio. Neighborhood hoodlum extraordinare. Internal beauty beyond compare. Object of love and lust. Yes, Obsessed is the word. Into my world he walked and I shall never recover.

He broke all my windows and ran through all my doors. But I can't ask him to fight my wars. But maybe someday he will come for me. Belvue is not nearly so appealing.

Hey Bree, I have been meaning to tell you.. my best friend got to see Eric Martin when he played a local club last week. She got to hang with him the rest of the night. She has met/interviewed him before. She was thrilled that he remembered her and she said he was as nice as ever.

I was so jealous! LOL!

About lions. I saw a documentary on lions and hunting and they said that the females do most of the hunting because they are streamlined and can hide in the grasses better than the males. The males manes make them more easily seen and often give them away when they are stalking. The males main job, other than procreation is protecting the pride and their territory.
Similar to the stallion`s job in a herd of horses. The herd is actually run by the head mare who finds water and grasses and decides the heirarchy in the herd. The stallion protects the territory.

At last count there were 2 dogs, 3 cats, 1 koi, 5 guppies, 2 suckerfish, 1 snail, & 9 guinea fowl!

oh geez.... let's see if I can't get my brain to work for me...

my daughter
my loves
anything www'ly and computery (designing stuff and messing with pics and web site design and a whole bunch of other stuff)
music (any sort. I don't care so love as I feel it has a good beat. That said, my comp has music ranging from Slayer to Aqua... and many things in between)
Charmed and Sabrina (Shhhhh!!!!)
photos (doesn't matter what the subject is. I'm a camera happy person... just don't get me on the wrong side of the lens ;) )
reading (and my books)
researching and studying (despite the fact that I couldn't stand school and left before finishing year 11)
pens (don't ask... I have millions of pens in my room ranging from your regular ball point pen to smelly pens to gel ink pens in metallic or pastels, glitter glue pens... you name it... I've just about got it)
food (I need to get back into ice skating cause I'm starting to put on weight)
cars (I love 'em. Mostly the one dated about the 60's and 70's.... and I can't get enough of the speed and power. But don't worry.. I'm not gonna do any illegal driving on public roads)
apparently I have this thing for bags. I've been called 'The Bag Lady'. I can't understand why....
cute/nice/pretty whatever.. ornament thingy's... I love decorating my home. Right now I'm looking at a wooden little 'potted plant'. The flower is made like a clip to hold photo's or notes. Not to mention my collection of dragon's and faery's. And my replica of Merlin's Crystal ball.... someone asked me if it works...
clothes. I need a new wardrobe...Especially with this new so called 'Boho' look the fashion world has taken to. At least it means I get more access to the style of clothes I like.
walking. don't ask... I could walk for miles yet I wouldn't be able to bike ride any where near the distance I could walk.

ummm... I think that's about it for now...

oh.. and 'HI!' to everyone here. I followed Kaylara here and read a few posts over the last couple of days. Depending on my mood, I can be very shy and reserved or very chatty and friendly.
Right now seems to be the chatty phase...

I think I'm starting to obsess over Tarot.

Pick up trucks - I don't have any.:wah2:

All of my obssessions are short-lived. I'll obsses over something for a while, then it will settle down to a gentler, more quiet type of enjoyment. Occasionally it will get old and stale and I'll have to leave it alone for a while. Sometimes I deliberately abandon it because I can't afford it (like swords and guns - right now I can't even afford ammunition) so I temporarily abandon it just to stop torturing myself.
