'Banned' lifeguard dog reinstated

A lifeguard dog banned from patrolling a Cornish beach because of health and safety rules is to be reinstated after hundreds of people signed a petition.
Bilbo, a Newfoundland, patrolled Sennen with his lifeguard master and got round a dog ban on the beach by sitting in an all terrain bike (ATB) during patrols.
However, the RNLI said passengers were not allowed on ATBs and banned him.

However, as a result of 1,500 people signing the petition seeking his classification, the 14-stone (89kg) hound is due to start his patrol rounds again in time for the summer season.

A dog that has a natural tendancy for swimming got banned by someone who has to follow rules? This was on the TV some time ago and it was claimed that the dog may scare kids. It went the other way as the kids liked him and the people liked the dog.

So yay! for people power and the voice of common sense.

Did you know that it's illegal to carry passengers on an ATV in Aus?? It's also illegal for someone under the age of 16 (I think, maybe 15) to ride a fully sized ATV..

I'm glad the dog is back on the beach though.
