View Full Version : Maybe I should do it over?

I warded my room recently, but I think I should do it over again. What I did was draw a spiderweb over each door and window of my room in rosemary oil, specifying that it should block negative energy and beings, allowing positive to pass through and enter (hence the spiderweb). Then I visualized the wards connecting and stretching across the walls, floor, and ceiling, and putting tendrils down into the ground to draw power directly from the earth. The problem is, I just noticed at least one of the webs I drew is completely rubbed off. And I feel stupid for not realizing that would happen, especially in that particular spot. What I want to do is clean up all that oil and re-do the wards in blue colored pencil and then re-do the visualization. Can I do that? Or do I have to undo the original warding first? And if so, how do I do that?

I just remembered: when I did this, I also carved a blue candle to represent the wards (I put the word 'wards' on one side and a spiderweb on the other) and dressed it in the same oil I drew the wards with, and burned it for nine minutes (since I associate 9 with protection) to activate the wards. Can I use that same candle, or do I need a new one? Or do I even need a candle? I'm starting to think not...

Any thoughts you guys have would be appreciated; I seem to be having trouble sorting things out lately.:weirdsmil

well in order to remove any doubt, You are the one who needs to understand why you are doing what you are doing. Why 9 minutes, you identify with that so your higher self will also understand what you are trying to communicate and will facilitate the appropriate actions in the astral to help them manifest in your physical. If that makes sense..

DO NOT follow anyone's instructions unless you are ok and in agreement with the syntax.

If blue is the color you feel you should use, based on your training and beliefs, then to use Red just because someone else says so with a convincing argument will not work for you because deep in your psyche you feel you should be using blue. Ergo the conflict,

If there is the slightest doubt, you are waisting your time.

Confidence, Intent, Feeling, these are the ingredients to a successful working.

Hope this helps.

The energy from the web you drew should still be present, even if the oil has become smudged. Many people use salt water to trace their protections on doors and windows - the water evaporates but the energy still remains.

If you feel vulnerable, clearing away and starting fresh is good practice for you. But are you sure the blue pencil marks won't get rubbed away just as the oil did?

I don't think you actually need a candle, although having a focal point can help solidify your visualization. Since you'd be using the candle for the same working, then it should be fine to use the same candle again.

Or ~ you should be able to just touch up the part of the web-spell that became smudged without having to redo the whole thing.

Having tendrils from the spider webs running down into Mother Earth to power the protection spell was a very good idea.

Thanks, guys. I am sure the pencil won't get rubbed off because I can put in a slightly different spot, since unlike oil I don't have to worry about it dripping and running down the walls. And Lunacie, I got the idea of having the wards draw power directly from the earth from you; you mentioned that you did that in another thread about wards, and I was struck by how practical that was. Kind of like someone who lives in a desert using solar power to run the AC.

Good, I'm glad someone found that information useful. :hahugh:

Yes, very much like a solar powered AC - as long as you have someplace to store the energy so you can run the AC after the sun goes down if you need to. With the earth, you don't really need a back up source or battery pack, but as long as you're drawing energy you can divert some to charge a crystal or something and use that to beef up your protection when you feel an attack being directed your way.
