So I'm supposed to be writing a poem for Diancecht and Airmid for the next high day.

My mind is all blank. :(
I can't find anything when I google for it, as far as poems.
I've never wrote a poem for a deity before so I have no idea how to start it... ?
Help?

Well, I don't know if this reply is too late, but...I think the best place to start would be reading their stories, getting some perspective on how they are defined in a nutshell, to you. Diancecht is associated with healing, so you could explore that theme in your poem, something about what healing means to you and how the god fits in to that. Meditating on or with the specific deity might also help. Once you feel like you have a handle on what the deity is about, I suggest meditating on those themes and just sort of give a shout out, tell them your intention of writing a devotional poem and something new might come through for you.

Your poem can take whatever form you like - free form, couplets, iambic pentameter, whatever. I think it will all please the gods, as long as it's sincere. It's okay to make it humorous or somber, however the inspiration flows.

All my friends are writers - I would be happy to be a sounding board or proof read your finished product before you have to offer it up in ritual. PM me if you need to!
