I have just finished getting Certified in Aromatherapy and find it amazing.... So I thought I'd share alittle...

Rosa Damascena
Rose Oil

Since ancient times, rose has been classified as an oil of emotional feeling, love, and femininity. Romans scattered Rose petals on marriage beds and crowned themselves with roses. The rose was also sacred to Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, beauty and fertility. St. Dominic in a vision, received the first rosary from the Virgin Mary, each bead was rose scented.

Rose has always been associated with deep, heart-felt devotional love. This response is part of the human rhythmic system, shen, and the fire element. The rhythmic system is an internal organization required to establish equilibrium between the nerve-sense system and the metabolic-limb system. Many Illnesses result from an imbalance between the two systems. The heart is a sense-organ. Rose oil is an oil for the hearts feeling function. It is also said to affect the emotional asthma and cardiac asthma. Shen is the third part of Chinese medicine, with chi, and jing. The word shen just means “Spirit”. Chi, is energy movement, and jing is growth and renewal. Shen brings clarity of thought and conscious direction of life, balanced feelings and clear honest communication. The fire element interacts in creation, support and inhibition or restraint.

It has been used for may things, including, digestion, women’s monthly problems, reproductive problems and increases the production of semen in men. As well as Headaches, liver problems, eye infection, skin problems, insomnia, nervous tension, stress, burns, cuts, scars and stretch marks. The Moroccan rose, (French) has narcotic properties. There are actually 10,000 types of roses. They have started using rose hemp seed for wounds, old scars, eczema, varicose veins and aging skin. With wonderful results.

In Spiritual PhytoEssencing, rose oil is one of the major remedies for emotional denial, self-delusion, repeated errors in personal relationships and the attainment of higher spiritual levels. Used quite often when a person is disappointed regarding romantic love relationships.

The word rose derives from the Greek word rodon, meaning red. The main components in rose oil are 50% terpene alcohols, and paraffins. And many other components, which we are not yet able to identify. It’s fragrance cannot be fully reproduced by putting the component together as of yet. It’s main use has been as nerve tonic, for it’s uplifting and tonifying qualities. It is one of the most expertise oils that you can buy. Huge amounts of rose petals are required to extract a tiny amount of oil.

A cheaper alternative to rose oil, for skin care, is rose water. It contains small amounts of rose oil and may be used as a tonic. It can also be mixed with almond flower to form a facial scrub. Floral waters are much safer than essential oils for they are milder and not as potent.

Contradictions: The homeopathic literature on Rose Oil is very limited, but it does talk of one symptom, “congestion of the Eustachian tubes” causing deafness, ringing in the ears and hardness of hearing.

All in all I found Rose Oil to be a wonderful, healing, spiritual oil… With many uses, forms and types to be found.

I have also been using Tea Tree and Lavender on my husband who was in a motorcycle acc.. A few month back... And the doctors are way impressed with his progress... He is healing three times faster than normal and will be up and walking by December 1st instead of Feb. 1st. Like they thought in the beginning... He is now part of a research report that is going to the goverment... His doctor is in a program that is trying to find out why people do not heal, and what will make them heal faster.... On his last visit, the doctor was much impressed and told him not to change anything he was doing... His foot was De-gloved, and the wounds are healing so fast... with just the oils and my energy work.... The doctor says it's "unbelieveable"....

I am very please to have him healing so fast.... (And I also want to thank the Goddess, the Faeries, the Angels, my Indian Spirit Freinds... As well as my fellow travelers... ) as I asked for their help and they sent me to these classes... I also thank them for the healing energy they send to flow through my hands.... *

I think it's great that your Doc is interested in the 'alternative' routes enough to ask you to keep a diary!:D If only all practitioners of western medicine seemed so keen!

I use alot of Lavender and Tea Tree on my family! I ALWAYS carry both oils with me at all times as they are the only ones I can use neat/undiluted on my three children for cuts, bruises, stings etc! (apart from arnica cream and Bach rescue rem!LOL!!):)

My fav oil of the moment is May Chung (otherwise known as Litsea Cubeaba!)

Yes, I have a very good doctor... Who is interested in anything that will help his clients... He's been on the news the last few days, so that is cool... His word and work is being spread... And the information I gather with my clients will end up in his computer network that is open to all doctors... As the changes begin.... And the world does grow.

I have never used May Chung, but I will check it out... Yes the Arnica oil is wonderful, and I make my own Resuce Rem... But I did start with Bach's... Wonderful stuff.... A friend of mine makes flower ess. with the faeries.... So they have a "special" energy that I love.... She has just completed her forest essence, and is starting work on a desert, rain forest, and a ocean essence....

Brightest of blessings to you... *

Eeluna... You are welcome, and I too am glad that my hubby is doing so well... I am using Lavender and Geranium (as an anti-fungal) to save his toe nails, as they were pretty smashed up and turning white... And it is working great... I do love this stuff.... And once again a man who thought what his wife did was funny, is healing by her hand.... Interesting how things work out..... heh, heh...... *
