The New Moon always rises at sunrise
And the first quarter at noon.
The Full Moon always rises at sunset
And the last quarter at midnight.

I wanted to do a prosperity spell as soon as I had written it out. The only problem was that the moon was waning at the time. What I did was "adjust" the spell to include the words "decrease my stress" etc.

I was just wondering what everyone thought of this method. I had posted it to another message board and got the response that it was a "giveaway" spell.

The approach was ideal. Prosperity involves both what we receive and what we let go (including things that may be obstacles to our prosperity). In the moon waning phase we can use the decrease of the moon to assist in the elimination of the obstacles to our prosperity. Alternatively, this phase can be an ideal time to "fix" the results of positive actions (including spellwork) that we have performed in the waxing phase and during the full of the moon. The waning moon can provide energy for completion, where we are no longer working to achieve or obtain something; but where we exercise spellcrafting to bring extablish the results of all that we have worked for in the earlier phases. It can depend on your visualization method, as well as the formation of your earlier (waxing, full) spellcrafting.

I try to conceive spellcrafting over a complete lunar cycle, in case the work needs an extra boost or fixation at later times for cases just such as these.

Wow, I didn't realize there'd finally be some interest here! I may have to pick this back up again. I'd given up because the threads never got much interest, but Annette's work is very valuable and this is the perfect time of year to begin practicing.

Did anyone know that the moon techniquely has a three year cycle? Just like the sun through out ayear will start at the nothern most side of the eastern horizen just after the turn of the winter Solstice and progress throughout the sky throughout the year until it is in the western most part of the eastern sky...( The suns nodes)....well, the moon also has nodes...it take her three years to fulfill one cycle...this puts a whole new slant on mother maiden and crone does it not?

In ancient days the moon's cycle was counted to keep track of time in conjunsction with the sun. look up ancinet calandars http://www.skyscript.co.uk/moonheath.html (http://www.skyscript.co.uk/moonheath.html)

I thought it was waxing, full & waning moon. That waxing increased, full fixed it in place & waning decreased it? That there is 13 moons a year , but did not know there was a 3 year cycle.
