Hey guys, I just wanted to ask you all to send some protective energy (if you can spare) to all of the people in West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, etc. We are under a Tornado Watch, Severe Thunderstorm Warning and Flood Watch. I just started raining here and this is (I believe) the fierest storm I have ever seen. I've been told to go to my basement (my house is on stilts  ) I expect my power/phone to go out at any second. The news says most of my town has no power right now.
Anyway, as energizing as this is, it's going to be extremely destructive. I have a feeling there will be lots of damage. Whatever you can spare will be appreciated. Thanks!

I heard about this storm on the news this evening. It certainly doesn't sound good, and I hope that it passes quickly without causing much damage. :heartthro

Yay! It's over!
At first I started thinking it was all a big hoax because nothing was happening, then all of the sudden--WHAMMO. It's too dark to see how much damage was done. I never saw a tornado so I don't know if there actually was one but I doubt it. I was just scary high winds (they say 70 miles an hour) and lots of really cold rain. I've talked to some of my family and they all report the same thing, lots of thunder and lightening and scary winds. We were under a Flood Watch too, but I don't think it rained enough for that--not that it takes that much rain to flood here . . . okay my heart is racing and my brain is rambling. I'm going to bed . . . Thanks everyone. :)

I am glad you are OK! I would have been scared to death.
I saw on the news- 27 dead because of the tornadoes. :(
May She wrap them in Her arms and comfort those who miss them.

Yep, it looks like Ohio took the brunt of it. :(

Actually, it looks like 33 now:

In the daylight, I see a few downed trees in the woods around my house but I still haven't ventured out yet.
The worst of it went around us (as it usually does). I'm so thankful for my mountains.

You've got it. I was surprised to see that on my news screen this morning, especially since we here in Oklahoma are in tornado alley and had very few warnings and watches during the entire season, May through August. Because of where we are, we have an outstanding warning system. Although it doesn't reduce damage, it has saved a lot of lives. Those who are killed usually either didn't heed the warning or were someplace where they couldn't.
I saw one go across the highway from the storm shelter we were in when we'd only been here for three weeks (I'd told my poor kids that they rarely happened). Their power is awesome.

We were in it too.
At the Jr. Rodeo yesterday - which was gonna run short anyway because the stock contractor was able to show due to the tornados that touched down where he lived.
Then the timed events were cut short because folks were leaving.
As we left the rodeo grounds the sirens in the nearby town were going off.
We were in no rain all the way home and actually enjoyed the displays of lightning.
Upon reaching our home town, we stopped at the grocery. As I was coming out of the store it just started raining and the sirens were going off. I got in the car and ask Hubby, "Mama's?" He said yes. We stayed in her basement for about an hour till the watch and warnings were over, then headed home. It started hailing, then got etrememly dark. Then it stopped lightening. At that point we couldn't see through the hail. It seemed like such a long trip. After we got home the phone rang - by boss was on the other end telling me about hearing that a neighboring community had 100mph winds. (We don't have TV) I told Hubby and he asked if I wanted to go back to Mama's. I told him I didn't think we'd make it. We stayed up for a while. Nothing happened. He went to bed and woke up on the couch to the house (trailor to be honest) shaking. It passed and I went to bed. We are turely grateful to be safe and damage free today. I'm not sure but I believe 7 in the state of Tennessee lost their lives.

I saw more of the damage on the news last night, and our local news dug up the films of the devastating one we had two or three years ago. The mall that it leveled was never rebuilt.
Sending healing energy to all who lost their homes and loved ones.

I agree, VroomBroom. I don't understand why the news decides that we must relive previous hurts to go along with the current one. I'm sure those affected feel the current disaster is quite enough to deal with.
