can someone tell me if these are even real?
And if so, what do they say??
I'm ever so curious. I found them in a notebook on the ground.
I think the F-bomb is dropped a lot in it though...translator discretion is advised.
Also...
If someone would take a look at these as well...they're not runes (or at least, not that I know of) and my friend said he made them up, but i dont think he did...and disregard the skirted man.http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn216/cindersarsenic/P5085770.jpg

I've learnt to read quite a few lettering systems and runes, but these are beyond me. The first looks like someone has combined several systems and I can't make heads or tails of it. Some of the "runes" I think are not actually real. I'd say someone used runes as the base to start their own lettering system so no one could read it. (My friends and I did this in highschool :p )
I think your friend must have been telling the truth with the second one. I've never seen that before, or anything really similar.

I like this though, I finally understand the confusion people feel when they open my diary... :P

I counted at least 80 distinct symbols. I think there are multiple alphabets (at least three) being used interchangeably with no real rules. So that's going to be a really hard code to crack.

Here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Runes#Script_variants) is a table of runes with transliterations next to them. This may help you in bits and pieces.

Buuuuuuuuut, I say only bits and pieces because yeah, it does seem like various symbols come from different systems, not just the runic alphabet. I wouldn't even be surprised if a few were made up.

As for the second thing, I do think your friend's telling the truth. I haven't seen anything like it, and I can't make heads or tails of it.

i've actually tried finding the letters and writing them down and i was only able to remember F... ;_;
I used to have a booklet of runes, but that got lost when my dad moved to a new house.
But thanks for the info and input, I will definitely try to crack it after I'm not busy!!! (June 22nd...so long away!!!)

SOme of those runes do not appear to be from the traditional elder futhark runes. I have seen some of them in what was called the Anglo Saxon furthorc rune set. I honestly do not know enough about that though and I only know of a couple of websites:

http://www.northernshamanism.org/Futhork_Runes.html

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anglo-Saxon_Futhorc

Again I can't really vouch for the accuracy of the websites but they could be helpful.

I'm not the most absorbant when it comes to remembering names, but I think I remember seeing the phrase futhark in Beowulf last year in Language Arts...Again, I'm not sure.

Checked out the sites and expanded the list of letters o.o I wrote down the English alphabet and then put the runes that meant those letters next to them...It's going to be a very lengthy list but theres one breakthrough:
He wrote his name in runes down. That much I know!!! His name is Avi, and its somewhere in the middle.
The little pyramids of dots are (I'm assuming o.o) hopefully numbers...

that first one looks VERY confusing and hard to crack. itll give me something to do though. ^^

Also, that second one looks similar to something ive seen before, but perhaps only shapes...

Edit: looking at it, the dots might be some kind of punctuation.

those look like some several different runes from the different systems, a few of those aren't runic letters but are runic symbols. i don't what the rest of them are.

Maybe it's written in Gullskoen?

http://gandalf.aksis.uib.no/Runefonter/Gullskoen-e.html

The font Gullskoen contains approx. 150 characters from the younger rune alphabet: the main forms and some variants of the long twig runes, the short twig runes, the staveless runes, and the Nordic medieval runes (including forms from Gotland, Iceland, and Greenland). The font does not represent a single futhark, but contains runic forms from a wide geographical area and from a period of several hundred years. The largest number of variants are Norwegian.

I hope this helps a bit ^^
