Tammy Thomas was about 10 years old when the growling thing came into her home.
Her uncle and new aunt brought their newborn to Tammy’s house for a visit and unwittingly brought something with them. Tammy blames it on the mother of her new aunt who practiced black magic and devil worship.
“The mother had given my uncle’s wife some yarn to make a blanket for her and my uncle’s new baby,” Tammy said. “They had been at our house one evening and when they left they forgot that baby blanket. We didn’t realize it at the time. Soon after that we began having all kinds of weird things happen around the house.”
Scratching sounds came from inside the walls and deep growling would haunt Tammy’s nights. Her entire family would hear people having conversations in the dining room and den after everyone had gone to bed. But to Tammy, the growling thing was more personal.
“I was awakened several nights with what sounded like someone whispering or growling in my ear,” she said.

It would scare me sh*tless if something like this happened to me. I'm very sensitive about bad spirits and bad vibes.
Well, in the end they did the right thing. 1) Get it out 2) Cleanse it 3) Destroy it. Makes sense to me.
Anyway.. it makes me wonder if they really knew the couple practiced "Black Magick" at all since they also included "Devil Worship" and in my opinion you have to be a Christian to worship the Christian's Devil (if that makes sense). Just seems like they were trying to pin it on someone else's difference of spiritual belief.

if i knew that it was the blanket that was causing the disturbance, i'd probably run around the house with it...screaming and laughing, making a lot of noise...my theory is, if you're crazy enough, the strangest thing becomes you and the not-so-strange/scary things leave you alone...:uhhuhuh:

theres quite a lot of stories about bad spirits attached to things.
i dont know if shouting at this thing would make any difference after all its enjoying the fact that these people were upset.
luckily enough ive not enountered anything as evil as this although i have experienced shadow people in my house.

I grew up in a house where footsteps, conversatons, poltergeist activity and noises like scratching and growling became an everyday thing for me.
Now, it's not that scary anymore. I wake up yes, but...it dosen't harm me and I would hardly say it's evil. (shrugs) who knows. :cutie:

maybe i'm being a party pooper but it could be that maybe an animal got trapped somewhere in the house and is trying to get out.or that the little girl was half asleep/half awake. sometimes when i'm in a weird inbetween state i can hear bits of my dreams instead of seeing and hearing them. the equivilant of listening to an audio story instead of watching a movie and sometimes i dream i'm getting up out of bed to do things and then having my normal dreams do something weird...sounds like a bit of family hysteria and as for the kid, well kids are kids they've got fantastic imaginations. the trunk to the car popping up was most likely due to hasty actions. now i'm not saying that there isn't or wasn't anything nasty in the house that should NOT be there, there may very well be but sometimes its better to rule out logical explanations first

I very much doubt you'd be able to act "crazy enough".

Sounds like we've got a live one, there. ;) They're always fun; especially when you're alone with them in your bedroom in the middle of the night, and they decide to become boisterous. Good times.
As for what to do with it, that depends on your own evil quotient. The conventional advice, is, of course, to remove such objectionable presences from your vicinity as soon as possible.
My own suggestion, however, could actually be to try throwing an acorporeal lasso around the beastie's neck and calling it your own. You'd need to keep it bound well and truly, and securely locked up when you're not using it...but such entities could definitely have their uses, if they were made to work for you rather than against you. :deviltail

With me being a knitter, and knowing some people's responses to certain gifts, I say that the entities didn't like the yarn.
I also don't believe in "demons" and "black" (or white) magic (it's all neutral to me).
However, the story is still kind of spooky nonetheless.

The Growling Thing
Thanks for sharing this story.
I have no experience dealing with paranormal manifestations, and this story raises a question that is an old one with me.
I know there are incidents where entities—whatever they may be—have caused actual harm to people. However, it seems that in the vast majority of cases, they behave like nothing less than children trying to get attention. They seem more of a nuisance than something to be frightened of. And even when they eventually become harmful, it seems it’s usually after simply trying to scare people or get attention hasn’t gotten them what they want.
I don’t get scared so much as angry when watching those spook shows on TV, because people are being run ragged by these supernatural attention-getters and time-wasters. However, I don’t know what I’d do if I ran into one; they seem to me like a case of athlete’s foot you can’t get rid of.
To those here with experience in this area: How accurate is my assessment and what’s the best way to get rid of these fungi?
