I found this article when I was looking for information on a specific goddess:

That's really cool, but I still don't understand how to figure mine out enough to do it :(

Fabulous link, Freyja! I've been wondering what goddesses are associated with each phase of the moon for months and months.

Mithrea, I don't think that I am exactly sure how to find my goddess either. Do you think that we are drawn to certain goddesses more at different times of the month?

Bleh. What we need is a moon chart for the year of our births. Anyone know where we could find them?

Anyhows. To find your Birth Goddess.

There are the four phases of the moon. New Moon, First Quarter, Full Moon, and Last Quarter.

According to this article, you need to find your birthday, then count backwards to the last New Moon prior to your birthday. This author's example has her at Day 28 of the New Moon cycle.
Going by this example, we then find the eight phases of the moon that she uses.

Day 0-3 - New Moon
Day 3-7 - Crescent Moon
Day 7-10 - First Quarter (Waxing Moon)
Day 10-14 - Gibbous Moon
Day 14-17 - Full Moon
Day 17-21 - Disseminating Moon
Day 21-24 - Last Quarter (Waning Moon)
Day 24-28 - Dark Moon

So the author is in the Dark Moon phase and her goddess is Hecate.

Now I'm off to search for some old moon charts...

edit - Cool... wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Moon Phases 1950-2060 (http://wise-obs.tau.ac.il/~eran/Sky/MoonPhase.html). Have fun finding out your Birth Goddess everyone! Mine is Aurora: Goddess of the Waning Moon.

Thank you! I'm not well-versed in astrology but I thought the link would be of interest to those who are. I do appreciate your coming up with something a bit easier :) Don't have time to work on it right now, but I'll get back to you.

Edit: Okay, I checked, and mine's Aurora also, Goddess of the Direction East and Waning Moon:

Aurora (ah-rohr-rah): Goddess of the Waning Moon
"Goddess of the Dawn." Aurora rules the Light Cycle of day: dawn, midday and sunset. She has the ability to bring the insight of the daylight hours into the Dream World. She is unafraid of the dark, and she is willing and able to harness inner power for the good of growth through realization. Aurora teaches us how to work in the Spirit World through the programming of our dreams. She possesses great Oracle powers and teaches us how to use our psychic energies.

Very interesting given my ability to read dreams and runes :D

I am a little confused. I was born 18 days after the new moon according to this chart. On another chart ( I cannot remember where I found it) it said I was born 15 days after the new moon during the Gibbous moon....Soooo, is my birth goddess Ceres or Selene????

Flar's Freyja
November 18th, 2002, 04:34 PM
That would be a question for an expert - Methanespirit, Kaya, Litha, wherefore art thou?

If it's Selene, I'm jealous :)

Siarlas
November 18th, 2002, 11:05 PM
Expert?! :: giggles :: Never been called that before.

Anyhows, Nissala, it all depends on which chart is right. It didn't occur to me that one might have it wrong, so I took the first option that seemed the easiest for us to us here.
Soon as I get a chance I'll have a further look around to see just how accurate that chart I posted is.

Mithrea
November 18th, 2002, 11:23 PM
Okay if I understand this right . . .

I was born on October 17th. The new moon in that month was on the 5th so that means I was born on the 12th day? This puts me in the middle of the Gibbous Moon. I hope that's right because that gives me:

"Astarte (as-start-ay): Goddess of the Gibbous Moon
"She of the Womb." Astarte rules the importance and power of Balance. She helps us discover what we are willing to sacrifice. She rules the fruits of the 1st Harvest, the 1st born of the womb and all bloodless sacrifices. She speaks to our natural duality as humans and symbolizes both the Morning and Evening Star. She is complex, protective and willing to surrender to the needs and desires of Her lover. Astarte embodies the Goddess of War and Desire. She is fierce and will protect Her loved ones at all costs."

This means something to me because the only goddess that has ever visited me, I never knew the name of. Reading that . . . I think it could be her.

Anyway, if someone could check me, I'd appreciate it and thank you to Freyja and Kaya :)

ok, so I was born 21 days after the new moon... Which makes it a Disseminating moon...OR last quarter...
Disseminating moon:
A. Moon is 225-270 degrees ahead of The Sun.
B. Moon rises mid-evening, sets mid-morning.
C. Moon is 17 to 21 days after the New Moon (3 to 7 days after the Full Moon).
D. Goddess: Ceres (Earth Goddesses)
E. Altar Cloth: Purple (or Brown)
F. Altar Candles: Brown (or Dark Green)

Last Quarter (Waning Moon)
A. Moon is 270-315 degrees ahead of The Sun.
B. Moon rises at midnight, sets at noon.
C. Moon is 21 to 24 days after New Moon (7 to 10 days after Full Moon).
D. Goddess: Aurora (Goddesses of the Direction East)
E. Altar Cloth: Yellow
F. Altar Candles: Red

Ceres (sehr-uhs): Goddess of the Disseminating Moon
"The Great Creatrix, Goddess of Growth." Ceres rules the entire Life-Cycle, birth to death. She heals through the power of Nature. She is the Goddess of the Green Witch and imbues the power of healing in all green things. She recognizes the importance of death in the Life-Cycle, offering nourishment to the Earth and the chance to begin again. Ceres helps in grief and sorrow at funeral times and can be called upon to enlighten us about the workings of reincarnation.

I'll then post a bit of a description when I get your d.o.b and after I get home to my folder.

mine is Ceres. Anyone know what pantheon she's from? I knew most of the others, but I've never heard of her. If her description here is accurate, she's definately influenced my life a lot thus far and I'd like to learn more about her.

(thanks, Freyja, for posting this and for directing me here!)

Ceres is the Roman name for Demeter, Greek Goddess of Agriculture.

All I know is that I was born on a full moon on a Friday... So me thinks that this is not all that much of a surprise..

Selene (suhl-leen): Goddess of the Full Moon
"Goddess of Power Through Insight." Selene won immortality for Her lover by sacrificing Herself and in turn, was granted eternal life for Herself! She knows the power of the mind and is not afraid to use it. She rules the Shaman and aids in inner journeys and Vision Questing. Selene offers the power of the Oracle and can grant balanced love through work, sacrifice of self, Give-Away and through the healing of past mistakes.

Wow...the night I was born was a full moon...that is sooooo cool...I adore the moon...hehe

So my birth goddess would be Selene :D which is interesting because for a while now I felt kinda close to her.

Finally I got around to doing this one.... :)

According to the first link...I was born smack dab on the New Moon...Therefore I am....

Diana: Goddess of the New Moon
"Diana, The Sky ." Some say that She was the original Sun "Goddess," ruling Vital Energy. The ancient priesthood eventually changed Her dominion, making The Sun ruler a God instead of a Goddess. In ancient times, Diana was worshiped only outdoors, under the open sky - whether by day or night. This is Her domain, the great outdoors. Diana rules 3 elements: Air, the beginning of light; Water, the beginning of the Life-Cycle (symbolized by the mid-wife Egeria); and Earth, the mysteries of the woods (symbolized by Virbius). She grants conception and aids in the childbed. Diana is particularly good at retrieving things, people and insights previously lost.

I had got Diana for another quiz-type thingie before... Amazing how she keeps coming up for me. :)

I'm first quarter, which equals Brigid in that article - the one Celtic Goddess who I'm at all interested in and vice versa, the one with the qualities I wish to attract, one who I could worship through doing what I love best: writing, drawing, anything creative.

Sorry about seeming to go mental, it's just... you know that feeling you get when everything suddenly seems to make sense? Just had that.

Okay...My birthday was May 22nd, 1975. According to this chart..the new moon in that month, was May 11th that year. That would put me at the 11th day of the New Moon Cycle, which means I, Too, am a Gibbous Moon.

So...that being the case:

I too, have Astarte:

Astarte (as-start-ay): Goddess of the Gibbous Moon
"She of the Womb." Astarte rules the importance and power of Balance. She helps us discover what we are willing to sacrifice. She rules the fruits of the 1st Harvest, the 1st born of the womb and all bloodless sacrifices. She speaks to our natural duality as humans and symbolizes both the Morning and Evening Star. She is complex, protective and willing to surrender to the needs and desires of Her lover. Astarte embodies the Goddess of War and Desire. She is fierce and will protect Her loved ones at all costs.

******************

Never really looked into Astarte, much. Now I know I will. When it spoke of Duality..hah...I'm A Gemini. How much more duality do I need? Maybe finding a Goddess who understands is just the right thing for me:) And anyone who knows me, will tell you I am most certainly complex. As for the willing to surrender to the needs and desires of her lover..hah..I've recently joined a support groups for "Co-dependents". So...yeah..that's me in a nutshell. Only, because I'm so incredibly dramatic, I take that sacrificial thing to a pretty unhealthy level (thus..the codependence). So..I need to work on that. Maybe I should speak more to Astarte, And ask her to help me find balance in my sacrifices...??

Edit: Okay, I checked, and mine's Aurora also, Goddess of the Direction East and Waning Moon:

Aurora (ah-rohr-rah): Goddess of the Waning Moon
"Goddess of the Dawn." Aurora rules the Light Cycle of day: dawn, midday and sunset. She has the ability to bring the insight of the daylight hours into the Dream World. Very interesting given my ability to read dreams and runes :D

I'd never even heard of Aurora before, and this made so much sense. Working toward using inner power for the good of growth through realization has been the theme of my life (I wish it hadn't taken so long to realize that). It brought up a childhood memory. My Nana had given me a beautiful aurora borealis necklace when I was around eight or nine and we both loved it. Perhaps she was speaking to me then. I don't remember whatever happened to it and this has prompted me to try and find another one.

Never mind..I got it :)

New Moon was on August 14th before my birthday...so going by that it comes up as a Full Moon..which is Selene.

It fits, very well.

This is me if I calculated it correctly! ;)

Dark Moon (Banishing Energy):
A. Moon is 315-360 degrees ahead of The Sun.
B. Moon rises at 3 a.m., sets at mid-afternoon.
C. Moon is 24 to 28 days after New Moon (10 to 14 days after Full Moon).
D. Goddess: Hecate (Dark Goddesses)
E. Altar Cloth: Black
F. Altar Candles: Left: Purple, Middle: Black, Right: Red

Hecate (hek-uh-tee): Goddess of the Dark Moon
"3-Fold Goddess of Women: Maiden, Mother and Crone." Hecate is exalted as the Crone, the old Wise Woman and protector of Witches. She rules Death; Death as Healer, Death as Savior, Death as Rebirth. She holds the secrets of the dark and rules the intensity of emotion. She helps direct anger and the need for destruction. She possesses powers of Magick, transformation and tradition. Hecate wields balance as judge and directs the powers of 3 x 3, and has the power to increase it 9 Fold!

a good site to visit for horoscope calculations is astrodienst, http://www.astro.com. get the (free!) personality reading. at the bottom it will list all your planetary positions. from my understanding of the article when the link still worked, the changing-over point between the moon phases is every 45 degrees, or 1 sign plus 15 degrees. so between 180 and 225 degrees (moon exactly six to exactly seven and a half signs ahead of sun) would be the full moon phase, and so on.

hope this helps

My birthday is April 10th 1971 - Full Moon...neato. The New Moon was 26th of March...giving me 16 days which equals:

Selene (suhl-leen): Goddess of the Full Moon
"Goddess of Power Through Insight." Selene won immortality for Her lover by sacrificing Herself and in turn, was granted eternal life for Herself! She knows the power of the mind and is not afraid to use it. She rules the Shaman and aids in inner journeys and Vision Questing. Selene offers the power of the Oracle and can grant balanced love through work, sacrifice of self, Give-Away and through the healing of past mistakes.

Did I work that out right?

TIA!

This makes sense since I feel I have been called to bring back the rites of birth to the mothers and their children (after I get my nursing degree I'm going to study to be a mid-wife). Very interesting.........

Well, the links didn't work at work (go figure) but work fine at home. Guess it was a sign to get back to my reports, eh?

Here's what I've come up with:

Aurora (ah-rohr-rah): Goddess of the Waning Moon
"Goddess of the Dawn." Aurora rules the Light Cycle of day: dawn, midday and sunset. She has the ability to bring the insight of the daylight hours into the Dream World. She is unafraid of the dark, and she is willing and able to harness inner power for the good of growth through realization. Aurora teaches us how to work in the Spirit World through the programming of our dreams. She possesses great Oracle powers and teaches us how to use our psychic energies.

What's cool is, I've always loved dawn, and when I do get up early (like I did today) feel more connected than when I miss it.

Never realized this before, but oh so fitting. I've actually been researching Sea Witchery and have found it very appealing....

Thanks for this...!!

Crescent Moon:
A. Moon is 45-90 degrees ahead of The Sun.

C. 3 days after New Moon, through the 7th day.
D. Goddess: Aphrodite (Goddesses of the Direction of West)
E. Altar Cloth: Cobalt
F. Altar Candles: Light Blue

Aphrodite (af-roh-di-tee): Goddess of the Crescent Moon
"She Who Rises From the Waves." Aphrodite rules aesthetic beauty, physical
love and the powers of lust. She is the Seat of the Soul and is especially
helpful for personal inventories. She can be very vain. Aphrodite rules the
power of female sexuality coupled with the ability to produce life, which in
turn, She inevitably consumes. Her element is Water. She stirs the emotions?

Preces Aurorae It is appropriate to pour a libation [of coffee!] for Eos. Close your eyes and visualize Her actions at Dawn (as described above). Then reach out your hand in salutation to the Dawn and say: I greet Thee, Eos Goddess of the Dawn,
who brings the newborn day; the stars are gone,
and fled before Thy face; both Sleep and Night
are routed by Thy torch, and put to flight. The flowers are awakened by Thy dew,
and turn toward the light, for You renew
their life; so also may Thy dew revive
my soul today with thanks to be alive.
You care for all that's fresh and young,
so care for me, to whom Thy dew has clung.
For You remind us that the darkest night
must yield to day and flee before the light. I pray Thee, shining Dawn, to bring to me
abundant wisdom, love and energy.
I ask Thee, gracious Goddess, for a wealth
of hope, of time to do, of strength and health.
Especially, this day I ask of Thee:
(fill in request) So may it be! I give my thanks for all this day may bring,
all things embraced by Dawn and Evening.
Blow a kiss toward the Dawn.

It can affect your entire life, or it can affect nothing. It's more of a personal thing. You can take these attributes as to mean they highlight things about yourself, or maybe areas of your life that need working on.
Read it. Meditate on it. Do what you wish with it basically. But I do suggest learning as much as you can about Hecate.

According to this article and the chart, I was born seven days after the new moon, and my goddess is Aphrodite. This is a surprise. Also, I was born one day before Brigid's phase of the moon.

With my love of all wild places and the countryside, I'd always thought I was more attuned to Artemis, the more ancient name for Diana.

The colors are interesting. Cobalt blue, Aphrodite's color, is one of my favorites. But, then I've always enjoyed deep purple, and most shades of green.

So, heres a question for all of you. If you were surprised at the answers you got, will you make a change in your practices?

I think I'm going to go along honoring Artemis as I always have, but, I think I'll study on it and make room for a few more.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As an educator of the Occult Sciences, I meet an amazing cross-section of people. Mostly women find their way to my
door. Many have been abused or neglected by parents and or authority figures. All have one thing in common, a fighting
spirit. Searchers want control in their lives. Once I have dissuaded a new group from the desire to cast spells as a way to
control others - oppressing the oppressors, so to speak - I convince them that what is really needed is to learn to flow
with the Natural Cycles of the Earth. Valuable time and energy is given away when one is constantly fighting for
domination. Once the searcher connects with the Natural World, then a foundation of knowledge is necessary to help
"Find One's Place in the Universe".

Through trial and error I have found that groundwork in basic astrology is a key to learning our true desires and talents
and, most importantly, the ability to flow naturally with the universe. When we release the need to dominate others and to
subjugate our emotions, we become aware that we are apart of a beautifully articulated omnipresent dance. This
knowledge makes it possible to learn release and forgiveness - true gifts of the Goddess!

What is Astrology?
Astrology is the occult science of understanding the impact of the constantly moving heavenly bodies on the course of
events on Earth. Alas, I am not an astronomer and cannot effectively explain how or why the planets move. I just know
that they do and I am aware that the movements of the planets form a fascinatingly complex system that chart possibilities
in everyday life on the planet Earth. Some responses to planetary movement are as obvious as The Moon dictating Earth's
ocean tides, while others are subtler and deal in the realm of pure emotion.

To begin the process of understanding astrology, you have to realize that Earth is effected dramatically by two cosmic
forces - The Sun and The Moon. The movement of The Sun creates time, dividing space into day and night. As The Sun
rises in the East, earthly life, in all forms, is alerted to wakefulness and the reality of the Life-Cycle. The Sun gives the
Earth light and with solar light comes heat, which generates vital energy. Vital energy is the catalytic spark that warms the
seed and initiates growth. Plant life absorbs sunlight and transforms it into the green of chlorophyll, which creates oxygen,
which all creatures breathe. As The Sun sets in the West, life is directed to retreat to inner consciousness in order to rest
and renew. This is the domain of The Moon - emotion, dream and inspiration are Her by-products. As The Sun initiates
growth, The Moon inspires it and gives it space to individuate. By following the courses of The Moon, one comes to
know when to create and when to complete, just as the Natural World knows when to birth and when to die.

Following the patterns of The Sun's movement is to chart the time, which it creates. Divisions of days into hours, hours
into minutes and minutes into seconds become possible. By measuring the passage of time, we are gifted with universal
understanding and are able to chart the blueprints or roadmaps of the possibilities of our lives. This is astrology - the
charting and interpreting of planetary movement, in order to foster understanding of the impact of cosmic forces.

To understand the effects of The Sun on the Natural World throughout the entire year, is to understand the meanings of
Sabbat worship. To understand the responses of the Earth to the movement of The Moon, is to understand the reasons
behind Esbat worship. Both Sabbat and Esbat worship is important - as the Earth needs the energy of both The Sun and
Moon - as creatures need the seed and the womb - one is not more important than the other. Through understanding
universal balance, we learn the basis of Practickal Magick. The charting of heavenly bodies adds another skill to the
never-ending process of understanding synchronicity.

The Movement of The Moon
Knowing the attributes of The Moon's courses is a prerequisite in determining the best time to act or rest - especially for
women. Women's lives are based on cycles - birth, puberty, menses, pregnancy, birth again and death. Many indigenous
people refer to the cycles of women as Moon for this reason. Working with nature to achieve goals, even if they are
personal, is acceptable. But, working against nature can be destructive, if it works at all? By knowing The Moon's phases
and working with them, one will help achieve a greater sense of fluidity and harmony.

Learning the specific cycles can be difficult. Through working with The Moon Phases for years, I have developed a simple
system of working with specific Goddesses to help the seeker internalize and personalize the movement of The Moon.
This system will also help to determine a personal Pantheon on which to grow.

Goddesses of the Eight Moon Phases

1. Diana: Goddess of the New Moon
"Diana, The Sky ." Some say that She was the original Sun "Goddess," ruling Vital Energy. The ancient priesthood
eventually changed Her dominion, making The Sun ruler a God instead of a Goddess. In ancient times, Diana was
worshiped only outdoors, under the open sky - whether by day or night. This is Her domain, the great outdoors. Diana
rules 3 elements: Air, the beginning of light; Water, the beginning of the Life-Cycle (symbolized by the mid-wife Egeria);
and Earth, the mysteries of the woods (symbolized by Virbius). She grants conception and aids in the childbed. Diana is
particularly good at retrieving things, people and insights previously lost.

2. Aphrodite (af-roh-di-tee): Goddess of the Crescent Moon
"She Who Rises From the Waves." Aphrodite rules aesthetic beauty, physical love and the powers of lust. She is the Seat
of the Soul and is especially helpful for personal inventories. She can be very vain. Aphrodite rules the power of female
sexuality coupled with the ability to produce life, which in turn, She inevitably consumes. Her element is Water. She stirs
the emotions?you can feel Her powers of love in the thundering waves of the sea shore!

3. Brigid (brihdg-uhd): Goddess of the Waxing Moon.
"The Triple Goddess of Healing, Fire Craft and Poetry." The Celtic Goddess of Fire, Brigid shines brightly in the hearts,
minds and souls of all women. She teaches us how to discover our own unique talents and how to harness our Muse. She
symbolizes our Identity, Ego and Personality and the talents held by each one. She encapsulates our potential for creating
life as an art-form, art as muse, muse as the healing of an empty heart.

4. Astarte (as-start-ay): Goddess of the Gibbous Moon
"She of the Womb." Astarte rules the importance and power of Balance. She helps us discover what we are willing to
sacrifice. She rules the fruits of the 1st Harvest, the 1st born of the womb and all bloodless sacrifices. She speaks to our
natural duality as humans and symbolizes both the Morning and Evening Star. She is complex, protective and willing to
surrender to the needs and desires of Her lover. Astarte embodies the Goddess of War and Desire. She is fierce and will
protect Her loved ones at all costs.

5. Selene (suhl-leen): Goddess of the Full Moon
"Goddess of Power Through Insight." Selene won immortality for Her lover by sacrificing Herself and in turn, was granted
eternal life for Herself! She knows the power of the mind and is not afraid to use it. She rules the Shaman and aids in inner
journeys and Vision Questing. Selene offers the power of the Oracle and can grant balanced love through work, sacrifice
of self, Give-Away and through the healing of past mistakes.

6. Ceres (sehr-uhs): Goddess of the Disseminating Moon
"The Great Creatrix, Goddess of Growth." Ceres rules the entire Life-Cycle, birth to death. She heals through the power
of Nature. She is the Goddess of the Green Witch and imbues the power of healing in all green things. She recognizes the
importance of death in the Life-Cycle, offering nourishment to the Earth and the chance to begin again. Ceres helps in grief
and sorrow at funeral times and can be called upon to enlighten us about the workings of reincarnation.

7. Aurora (ah-rohr-rah): Goddess of the Waning Moon
"Goddess of the Dawn." Aurora rules the Light Cycle of day: dawn, midday and sunset. She has the ability to bring the
insight of the daylight hours into the Dream World. She is unafraid of the dark, and she is willing and able to harness inner
power for the good of growth through realization. Aurora teaches us how to work in the Spirit World through the
programming of our dreams. She possesses great Oracle powers and teaches us how to use our psychic energies.

8. Hecate (hek-uh-tee): Goddess of the Dark Moon
"3-Fold Goddess of Women: Maiden, Mother and Crone." Hecate is exalted as the Crone, the old Wise Woman and
protector of Witches. She rules Death; Death as Healer, Death as Savior, Death as Rebirth. She holds the secrets of the
dark and rules the intensity of emotion. She helps direct anger and the need for destruction. She possesses powers of
Magick, transformation and tradition. Hecate wields balance as judge and directs the powers of 3 x 3, and has the power
to increase it 9 Fold!

Finding Your Personal Birth Goddess
In your ephemeris, find the New Moon before your birth. Then count the number of days before your birth. Look for the
corresponding day in the Eight Moon Phases to find which phase you were born in. For example, I was born on February
9, 1956. The New Moon before my birth was on January 12. Therefore, I was born on the 28th day of the New Moon
Cycle. My Moon Phase is the 8th, The Dark Moon. My Goddess is Hecate. My power colors are black, purple and red.
These are the dominant colors in my life.

Once you have discovered your Birth Goddess, write Her name on a sheet of paper and hang it above your personal
Altar Space or bed. Begin your search for a statue of your Goddess. When you find Her, place Her in the center of your
Altar, facing you. Develop a relationship with Her. She is your closest ally, your friend and guide.

I have the same problem.. two could be me. How do you figure out which one is you? I was born 14 days after the New Moon. (July 17, 1970 and the New Moon was July 3, 1970)

I was born on 4 February, the New Moon occured on 1 February that year.
The new moon goes for 3 days...so would it last until the 3rd? Or would it go on until the 4th?
Um.

Actually the easiest and most accurate way to figure this out is to get a free chart drawn up at Astro.com. That will give you the degrees of your Sun and Moon, and then you can figure out how many degrees are between them. Me, I'm right on the edge of the First Quarter & Gibbous, but I'm actually First Quarter. :) Just remember when counting degrees, even though every sign has 30 degrees, they count off from zero to 29, not one to 30. :)

I'm actually restarting what seems to be a very old thread, but I was just online researching my birth Goddess info and found the link to this thread while searching Google so I thought I'd post in it with my Goddess info and hope it prompts others to research theirs as well.

After doing all the "math", I found out my Goddess is Aphrodite. Definately not who I suspected but I think I'll do some meditating and see where it goes.

3. First Quarter (Waxing Moon):
A. Moon is 90-135 degrees ahead of The Sun.

C. Moon is from 7 to 10 days after the New Moon.
D. Goddess: Brigid (Triple Goddess of Healing, Fire Craft and Poetry)
E. Altar Cloth: Emerald Green
F. Altar Candles: Light Green

Brigid is my Goddess. This makes a whole pooload of sense, as I love writing poetry, my favorite color is green, and I identify a lot with fire. Also, I was born 9 days after the New Moon, and nine is my lucky number. I wonder if it helps that I'm Irish? lol

7. Last Quarter (Waning Moon)
A. Moon is 270-315 degrees ahead of The Sun.
B. Moon rises at midnight, sets at noon.
C. Moon is 21 to 24 days after New Moon (7 to 10 days after Full Moon).
D. Goddess: Aurora (Goddesses of the Direction East)
E. Altar Cloth: Yellow
F. Altar Candles: Red

Aurora (ah-rohr-rah): Goddess of the Waning Moon
"Goddess of the Dawn." Aurora rules the Light Cycle of day: dawn, midday and sunset. She has the ability to bring the insight of the daylight hours into the Dream World. I appear to be right in between the waxing moon and gibbous moon. So I end up with Brigid and Astarte:

Brigid (brihdg-uhd): Goddess of the Waxing Moon.
"The Triple Goddess of Healing, Fire Craft and Poetry." The Celtic Goddess of Fire, Brigid shines brightly in the hearts, minds and souls of all women. She teaches us how to discover our own unique talents and how to harness our Muse. She symbolizes our Identity, Ego and Personality and the talents held by each one. She encapsulates our potential for creating life as an art-form, art as muse, muse as the healing of an empty heart.

This is pretty interesting. I've had a fascination with Brigid lately, and Astarte sounds like a goddess I could definitely like.
