The link isn't working but I don't care either way, I live in NYS and there's already sales tax on it as well as a 5cent deposit on the container. Nobody has to have soda and the regular stuff is FULL of sugar so it's very fattening.

I haven't drank soda in 10 years, and have no intention of ever buying it... I also live in NY.
That said, I'm not about to disregard dumping too much of a tax on it even though it doesn't directly affect me... this sort of thinking only facilitates it eventually coming to something you do care about.

hmm...here's an idea how about everyone take a paycut? When this country was founded the only politcal job that was supposed to be full time was the President's. Now not only is being a politician a full time job, but people get rich from it. I think they should find out what the national average salary is and that is the most a politician should be paid. Maybe then they'd be more in touch with the "common' man. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
