I have come across many variations- silver-gold, green-red, white-black etc, so I'm curious:
What colour candles do YOU use to represent Goddess and God- and why?

I use black for Odin and green for Freyja. Strange because it should really be pale blue for Freyja and deep, dark blue for Odin. It's just what I feel like like using. For joint candles I use a white frankincense.

I usually just use white tea candles for most things, cuz they are cheap & easy to get and fit in my candle holders nicely ^^

I use the traditional gold and silver.
If I don't have those on hand, I'll use tealights, or a brighter color for the god (say red, orange, yellow) and a more muted color for the goddess (green, blue, white, brown). I'm very resourceful and much more likely to use what I have at the time, then go into great detail.

I also use tea lights a lot - because they aren't scented. Hard to find colored candles that aren't scented.
I know of one tradition that uses white for the god (ejactulate sperm) and red for the goddess (menstrual blood). I like using gold and silver. But I like the idea (new to me) of using seasonal colors for the god.

I often use pink for Aphrodite and red for Ares. But I like the gold and silver, too, especially when in circle with my sister and her boys.

I only have one candle on my altar. It is white and purple with very fine glitter throughout it that only appears as it melts.
I prefer to have one candle that represents my connection to God and Goddess than separate candles for them =]

I don't use candles, because I'm deathly afraid of fire being near me.
But, if I did...it'd depend on the season. For male deity, probably more sombre tones like brown, black, red, and green. Maybe purple, for majesty and regal bearing. The female deity, brighter colours like blues, lighter greens, yellow, and orange. White could be used both ways.

I think it depends on the season/sabbath or the god/goddess so it might be different for me every other month. I usually light a white candle to represent the Goddess,Brighid most often. I have a green candle for Cernunnos and had a deep red for Maeve. I have used gold and silver as well.
But most often like others have said i use tea lights, they are so practical.

I'm not Wiccan so I don't have a candle for the goddess and a candle for the god on my altar. Instead I use candles for the purpose of my ritual and my general altar candles are always red beeswax or plain beeswax. For my deities I decorate the glass jar of a vigil candle for them, anoint it with a corresponding oil and light the candle of the deity I wish to invoke or honour.

Its been a long time since I could actually pull out my altar/candles/ritual items ect, or even been in the same state as them, but I used a purple candle for goddess and a light yellow (almost gold) for god. I dunno why, it just felt right... those colors said god and goddess to me, so I got em!

I use a white one for the Goddes and a red one for the God, but I want to change those, maybe in seasonal for the God and light lavenderish purple for the Goddess. But ill stick with white for the full moon times.
But I also use tealights there handy and you can take them anywhere they even come in nice colors as well.

As of yet I have never used candles in this manner (due to not having the space) but since moving and having enough room to have an alter I will be using gold and silver candles to represent the God and Goddess. Just seems like the right colours for me personally.
