Ceremony for self blessing and blessing of others.

What you will need.

Candle: White is good, but use what you feel is right. Represents Fire.
Smudge: Sage, cedar, sweet grass, or thyme, or your own. Represents Air.
Water: A small container. Water element.
Salt: A small container. Earth element.

Dip fingers in the salt saying:
I cast out all impurities that might hinder in these rites.

Dip fingers in the water saying:
I cast out all impurities that might hinder in these rites.

Now bring them together as a power of one. Making Sacred water.

Offer Smudge to the four directions, Mother earth, Father sky, and the Great spirit.
Or the Goddess, the Great Horned God, and The Great Spirit… or any gods and goddesses that you follow. Then smudge yourself and all the tools you are working with. Light the candle.

Then say: Bless me, Mother Earth and Father Sky, Great Spirit look down upon me now. For I am your Child. (or fill in your own gods and goddesses).

Now say the following blessings and dip your fingers into the water mixture after each blessings.

Bless my head that my mind and yours are as one.
Bless my mind that feels as you feel.
Bless my third eye that I may have your wisdom.
Bless my ears that hear as yours hear.
Bless my nose that I may breathe your essence.
Bless my mouth that I may speak your works.
Bless my heart that I may feel as you feel, with compassion and love.
Bless my cauldron that I may create harmony.
Bless my feet that I may wald in balance on Mother Earth.
Bless my hands that I may share your healing in my work.
I am the soul that remembers as you remember.
So mote it be.

Then say thank you to the spirits for joining you and helping you with this blessing. Releasing them.

NOTE: I really like this blessing and how it makes me feel so loved and protected. I have found that different colored candles and more than one candle seem to just help set the mood.... But I always burn a white one. Even if I add a colored one. If I add color it's mostly red, for fire and power... I like using sage and sweet grass myself... and sea salt.... I like doing this right after bathing... and outdoors... It just makes it feel more cleansing. I guess... Hard to describe... You just have to check it out yourself. I also like to add something personal of my own to my "tools:.

I learned this from an old shaman who has since moved into spirit land... *

Oooh, I love this! And thanks for posting it. A few months ago in our Women's Circle, we made Self-Blessing Mirrors. We got little hand mirrors from the dollar store and cleansed them with Sage Tea. We put on some meditative music and decorated them with ribbons and flowers. When we had all finished, we did the self-blessing together - looking into our own eyes in the mirror at the end of it. There were lots of tears.....we also discussed how the blessing turns out slightly different each time you perform it.

We were told to keep the mirror in a protective bag. I found some glittery felt at Wal-Mart and spent several nights sewing together a bag for the mirror, talking with my goddess and doing some knot magick as I sewed. The mirror is one of my most valued magickal tools.

Prior to making it, I did the self-blessing every day after I showered - I always put lotion or oil on after my shower and incorporated the blessing into applying it.

Thanks for reminding me. I haven't done it in a while and will start making this a regular practice again.

Is this a very difficult blessing? I've never eprformed any ritual, and I'm leery of trying anyhting without someone with experience, but I'm also pretty impatient, and it may be a year before I can connect with anyone. Are there most basic things I should try first, or is this a resonible beginning?

Flar's Freyja
September 24th, 2002, 04:13 PM
I think that this would be an excellent beginning. This is a good way to cleanse yourself and open to the blessings of the Mother.

PureClassicTorture

Excellent! I'll have to try it. And incure my mother's criticism that I'm a which. I could call her things!

How would you change it to bless another?

Flar's Freyja
September 24th, 2002, 07:03 PM
You could just change the wording to bless another person.....but most of us believe that we should get their permission first, before doing any kind of magick. I'll bump up the Magickal Ethics thread for you :)

God, I feel like such an amateur. I'll never get this.

BTW, how does one make smudge?

We were all new once.....and there are so many different ways of doing things that we're all still learning, all the time. I'll search to see if we have a thread on smudging in the morning and if not, we'll start one!

Edited to add: Check the forum, I bumped a thread and found a few articles for you :sunny:

How to clear your mind awareness exercise.

This is an exercise to connect yourself with spirit screen. It is the beginning skill to all journeywork. You need to know how to close your mind to the outside world. Then be able to relax and breathe. To go into an altered state at will. This will help you do just that. Trust what you see, hear, feel, think, and smell. Whatever your experience is.

Begin by taking a long, slow breath.
Take a few moments to be with your breathing.
Relax.
Become aware of where you are.
Feel the position of your body.
Become aware of the temperature around you.
Feel the air move around you.
Now breathe deeply, and listen for the sounds around you.
Listen carefully for even the softest sounds.
Listen for the sound of your breathing.
Quietly listen again for the sound of three breaths in and three out.
Imagine that your forehead is a blank screen ready to reflect your images.
For a few moments simply let images flicker briefly across the screen. One after another as though they were advertisements or previews of a coming attraction.
Let each of these images go past quickly, frame to frame.
Fell your body relax deeply as the screen becomes blank once more.
No sounds, no sights.
Just the feeling of your body and the rhythm of your breath.
Breathe an especially long, slow breath and begin to expand the screen.
Allow the screen to become larger and larger until you are only aware of the blankness and the quite of the screen.
Enjoy the stillness of your body.
Feel the quite focus of your mind.
If you are sitting, you may wish to rock slightly back and forth as you experience your image in your minds eye.
Allow yourself to step into the blank screen.
Feel the peacefulness.
Take as long as you like… Then when you are ready.
Come back to full consciousness.
Feel your toes and move your fingers.
Know this screen is always there.
You may return to it anytime.
That is all.

This comes from a shaman’s notebook… Who is beyond now, but wanted to share.

NOTE: I find this very helpful in releaving stress and finding my place in the spirit world... As well as bringing me answers. *

Aquarian Energies.

Imagine yourself sitting in the middle of three circles, each one encircling the next. Visualize the rings, which have a common center, like ripples on the water. You are the center. In each circle are crystals. The circle closest to you has three crystals, red yellow and blue. The next circle has three crystals, peach, scarlet, and rose… The next has three more turquoise, lime green, indigo. Nine crystals. Three circles. Twelve energies. You are the center crystal. Make the sound of a long E. Visualize the red ray vibration, lifting from the red crystal and flowing into you. You are the center. Absorb all that you need of the red ray and then send it back to the red crystal. Continue this process until you have completed each circle and each crystal. Holding the energies until you have absorbed all that you need of the ray represented in each crystal…

This also comes from a shaman’s notebook… I find it very healing and calming, as well as just fun to do.

Shamanism Journey Helpers….

The shaman is constantly aware of the events of all levels of consciousness. The shamanic journey is but one. Explore your images, dreams, inner visions. This is only a guideline and a list of helpers to show you and help you on your journey path.

Human world.

1. Spend a few minutes each day becoming aware of your “stream of consciousness”. Thoughts, beneath this stream is a deeper level. Often considered to be unconscious but accessible through journeywork. Let thoughts and images flow freely, without structure. These may seem a bit swampy at first. But the stream and the channel will clear. Note patterns.

2. Make a drumming tape. The rhythm is the important factor here. Keep it steady as a heartbeat. Make the tape about 20 or 30 minutes long, depending on how long it takes you to reach deep levels of inner visions. At the end of the tape make a loud noise or instruct yourself to return to the present time and place. After a minute, repeat the command or noise. Sometimes it’s very pleasant to take long journeys but it’s psychically exhausting.

3. Select symbolic power objects that are sacred to you, such as grails, swords, shields, rattles, pipes, and medicine bags. Ceremonially attune with the objects and request their energies on your journeys. Do accept these objects will influence the journeys since they are links to specific energies. Start with short journeys and experiment with your symbolic ritual objects as journey companions.

4. Form a small circle of close friends and journey together. Either take turns and drum for each other or go together using a drumming tape or shamanic music. Share your experience later.

5. Always remember where you are and where you entered. Keep the tools that are given to you in the worlds. For the next journey.

Human world philosophic ray energies.

In your inner vision allow each of the following ray energies to teach you to absorb that philosophic blend. Memorize its energy. To recall as needed. Feel the deep connection and the opening between yourself and the ray energy of that philosophy. This is the way to the total shaman world.

Blue Ray….West….. Eastern Spirituality…. Flowing Energy.
Green Ray….North….Mature Consciousness….Heartbeat Energy.
Yellow Ray….East….Oriental Mindfulness….Uplifting Energy.
Red Ray……South…..Western Physical…..Static Energy.
Indigo Ray….Center……Tibetan Synthesis….Centering Energy.

Plant World.

1. Make a special journey incense. Blend sage mugwort, dragon’s blood resin, frankincense, decar juniper, and thyme. Add herbs special just to you. This is only a guideline; you need to find a workable blend for yourself. Burn only when you wish to journey. Soon the sent alone will get you started.

2. Select and blend oils such a rose, sandalwood, lavender and mint. Again this is a guideline, make the blend your own… Use it in carrier oil, or just use one or two drops on your palm and then dot it on your skin… Do not over use the oil, less is better. You do not need to rub in a huge amount. Anoint your chakra’s. For sky spirit visions start at the root chakra and work up… For animal spirit journeys start at the crown and work down.. This oil should be saved only for journey purposes. It’s extremely effective when placed on the spinal energy points, the heart, the back of the neck and the third eye areas… You can also anointed the third eye area before sleeping for dream state journeys.

3. Put a plant that thrives on low light, such as amaratha, Chinese evergeen. Keep it beside your bed. Gifts of crystal and feather are nice for such a plant. Take time to attune to the plant. Share your vision, images, and dreams; imagine that plant growing just inside the entrance of a sacred cave. Let it help you enter the cave.

4. Gather flowers that bloom between darkness and dawn. Dry the blossoms and place them in a pouch. Use for journeys between the worlds.

Animal World.

1. Enter a tunnel or cave in your deepest level of imagination. Move through the cave slowly. Calling for your special sacred power animal to come and aid you on your journey. Be certain that you feel comfortable with the power animal that emerges. If not, send the animal away. Then come out of the journey level and do some clearing with sage, vinegar baths, feather cleansing. Try again when you feel ready.. Stay positive.

2. Call on the bear of the west for an all-purpose strong journey companion. Let the bear help you to find a special cave. Go deeper and deeper with the bear as a guide. Let the journey flow. The bear is also very good for journey of deep level self-healing. If you have an area of disease, visualize it as a cave to enter with the bear. When you are inside, do ceremony and let the healing energies of the bear and the flow of the west wash the area clean. Rest and hibernate afterwards. Bears love that.

3. Determine which positive sacred old animals are for you. Such as unicorns, dragons, griffins, thunderbirds. Ceremonially request their presence on your journey. Like other symbolic totems. They will have a strong influence on the journey. These animals have a special and distinct energy, as well as a connection to the energies of their origins.

4. Journey with your pets. This is more in the craft of the wise tradition of the familiar. But it opens wonderful connections for all levels. This is also possible with wild life in your close environment… Be ready for surprises.

Mineral World.

1. Make a circle of crystals. However many you have, all sizes. Place them point down into the ground if you can. If not in cups of salt or soil. Ceremonially enter the circle and request a crystal pathway into the earth journey levels. Points up can be used for a sky spirit vision… Points toward you for healing journeys and energy rebalancing. Points outward can be used for protection or for sharing energies. You are the programmer.

2. For various levels of inner visions and journeys, use the following stones. Work with them interchangeable to determine what works best for you. When you have chosen, ceremonially adopt the totem for that purpose. Save them in a special place.

A. Dream Stimulations. Herkimer diamonds, quartz crystals, blue topaz, fluorite.
B. Deep level void journeys. Dark amethysts, azurite, apache tears, black coral.
C. Earth journeys. Smoke quartz, tourmalinated quartz, catriona, topaz, dioptase, emeralds, turquoise, malachite, amber, amber calcite.
D. Sky spirit journeys. Rhodochrosite, rose quartz, fluorite, rutilated quartz, celestite, amozonite, all crystals.
E. Healing journeys. Double terminated quartz, crystals specifically programmed by you!

3. Choose two stones or crystals to be dream speakers for you. Sleep with these on your pillow or under your pillow. In your hands or on your heart. You can stick them in your pillow case, so as not to loose them.

POWER SONG. (Shaman Notebook Info.)

Each person has at least one song. We use it to wake up guardian spirit and other helpers. For healing, to cleanse a person, place or thing, to balance ones self. To find your power song. Plan to spend a day alone. In a wild natural location where you will not encounter any people. Where the natural environment has not been to altered by humans. Do not eat breakfast and fast throughout the day. Quietly walk and sometimes sit, allowing spirit and your feet to take you wherever you should go. Now it's time to feel what animal is inside you. Fell it, see it, walk it, talk it. Allowing your song to come. Some people go to sleep afterwards and dream their song. But anyway it comes spirit knows.. All you must do is ask.

WHITE ELK SAYS

The best magic words are those which come to one when one is alone out among the mountains. These are always the most powerful in the effect. The power of solitude is great and beyond understand.

GOING INTO THE SILENCE. (SHAMAN NOTEBOOK INFO.)

This is a tool for total ability to control spirituality, self-understanding and sharing with the spirit keepers, totems and all of nature. It’s very important to control your restless mind. Over coming fear and illnesses. Expanding knowledge.

THREE PARTS

1. Your everyday life, conscious mind.
2. Habits, past programming, non-reasoning language free and reactive, facet known as the sub conscious mind.
3. Higher conscious, spiritual self.

You need to clean the web to your higher conscious. You must apply self-discipline. You must control every thought, and emotion. You need to control your conscious and conduct self-examinations and open self to the medicine.

1. The conscious mind must remain quiet.
2. Love self above all; you must truly learn to love. Love is unselfish and understanding. You need to become love.
3. Rid self of anger, fear, hate, envy, be objective, free of unbalancing emotions.
4. Do not become part of another person’s problems. Be sensitive to feelings but be objective. It is their path, not yours.
5. Self-examination with love and understanding only. But with a cold eye.

TO OPEN UP INTO THE SILENCE.

Look up about 1 inch above line of eyebrows, inside surface of forehead. Keep your back straight and your head up… go to a quiet place. Empty mind and relax. Allow your mind to float. Breath all in and all out. No pausing. You can do it, if your desires are pure and strong enough.

Indian Blessings to all..... *

I so appreciate all the time you are putting into these! I especially like the section on drumming. I've had the blessing of participating in drumming and I was very uncomfortable at first. What comes to me amazes me. At one drumming circle in particular, I was using one of the bigger drums and my sleeves were getting in the way. We were sounding awesome and when I had to stop for a few seconds to push my sleeves up, I was shocked to realize that I was leading!

I've had several experiences with drumming where a tremendous release occurred, and it can really help you trance for meditation. All that requires is the ability to do the "heartbeat," which ANYONE can do. I highly recommend it!

Dancing your power animal ceremony.

Needed... Do this outside if possible, if not, in a quiet half darkend room free from furniture. It's good to have 2 rattles and a drummer, but not necessary.

1)Stand facing east, shake the rattle very rapidly and strongly four times. this is a signal that you are starting, or ending, or making a transition. this is serious work. Think of the rising sun, the eagle and it's power. Ask the eagle to come and be with you.

2)Stand facoing the south, then shake the rattle again four times and call in the wolf and that aspect. Think of what the wolf means to you.

3)Stand facing the west, then shake the rattle again four times and call in the bear, and that aspect. Think of what the bear means to you.

4)Stand facing the north, then shake the rattle again four times and call in the buffalo and that aspect. Think of what the buffalo means to you.

5)Making the ful circle, shake the rattle again four times and call in the mother earth. Thinking of your plant and animal relation. Also thinking of the earth, our home, and the relationship you have with the mother.

6)Shaking the rattle again four times about shoulder high and call in father sky. Thinking fo the grandmother moon, grandfather sun, the star and the universe, and the relationship you have with them.

7)Shake the rattle again four times and above your head, call great spirit, the oneness in which you have.

8)Still facing east shake the rattle while jogging in place, to prove your sincerity. About one minute. You are dancing to rise your spirit.

9)Allow spirit to move through you and dance, feel it, see it, live it. When you are done welcome the animal in. then release the spirits you called in and thank them for coming.

This can be done once a week. That is all.

NOTE: If you have a drummer they can drum through the whole ceremony. If you are outside, dancing round a fire is always nice.

Smudging Ceremony from the shaman's notebook.

As always you can be as elaborate or as simple as you choose. Make sure the herbs are blessed and ready for ceremony. The seven directions are East, South, West, North, Mother Earth, Father Sky, and Great Spirit. Or the last three can be thought of as Below, above, and within.

Go into quite place with yourself. Take out 7 matches. Place the smudge in your bowl.

The first match is for the east, the eagle. The place where the sun rises, and spirit begins. Strike your match and say your blessing for the east as you light the smudge.

The second match is for the south, the wolf. The place where trusting, innocence and the teacher of us all. The place where it's hot. Strike your match and say your blessing for the south as you light the smudge again.

The third match is for the west, the bear. The place where dreams and visions are introspection, the place where the sun sets and spirit rest. Strike the match as say your blessing for the west as you light the smudge.

The forth match is for the north, the buffalo. The place where wisdom is abundant. The place where it's cold, the teacher of giving to yourself. Strike the match and say your blessing for the south as you light the smudge.

The fifth match if for the mother. The earth mother of all of us. Feel the connection of all your relations, The blessing of the herbs. Strike the match and say your blessing for the mother as you light the smudge.

The sixth match is for the father, the father sky, the place where grandmother moon and grandfather sun live, the star nation. The connection to the above beings. Strike the match and say your blessing for the father and his aspects as you light the smudge.

The seventh match is for the Great Spirit. The great mystery. This should be done in reverence and silence. Then light the smudge.

Offer the lit smudge bowl to all the seven directions. Actually go to the different places and then bend low for mother, rise for father and lift your hands high to the Great Spirit. Then with a feather, or just your hands, smudge. Allowing the smoke to cover all of you, or whatever you are working with. The smoke is what cleanses. If it's an object, run the object east, west, then turn come back west, east. Then run the object south, north, then turn and come back north south.

If a father is used the normal is head to toe, then up the charkas. Although , again you must always listen to spirit. Not everyone is the same. Follow spirit, it will lead you to your place of smudging.

FLOWERING TREE CEREMONY

You will need tobacco or cornmeal and a small rock (not crystal) that has significance to you.

Pick a special time and select a tree in nature that has significance for you.

Honor the directions in order, being sure to stop at East.

Then sit with your back against the tree, facing south, with your left hand holding the stone against your heart and ask the stone to ask the tree questions such as… “Who am I? How do I feel about myself?” South questions relate to emotions. This way of asking questions connects the worlds, so be especially aware of your environment. It will give you insights and answers.

Now sit so you are facing west. Hold the stone against your heart in your left hand. And have the stone ask questions such as…. “What do I need to know about my body.” West questions relate to the body.

Move to the north and use north questions like.. “What do I need to know about my mind?” North questions relate to the mind.

Move to the east and ask questions like… “What am I here for? What is my path? East questions correspond to the spirit.

You may write down or record your impressions as you move through the directions.

When you are done in the east, hug the tree from the east and leave the tobacco or cornmeal by the tree as an offering.

PRAYER FLAGS

Prayer flags are long strips of natural cloth, be it wool, cotton or silk… they are approximately 6-12 inches long, unless using for a sweat lodge, then they are 12-16 inches long… Depending on the thickness of the poles you use. They are 7 inches wide.

Offer tobacco in your tobacco flags… The Tobacco needs to be natural not processed cigarettes. Your sacred tobacco blend from you sacred pipe will also work.

Sage, Sweet grass, cedar or cornmeal in your prayer flags.

Offer the herb to the seven directions… North, South, East, West, Above, Below and Within… Then as you tie up your bundle with each tie you make say your prayers.

Tie them either to your lodge, your boles during vision quest, in trees or on your paho or prayer sticks… These can be placed in the ground or hung in a tree, do not touch with right hand after finished. Leave for 4 days… (Your right hand sends energy in and your left hand draws energy out.) Find a stick place a feather on top and place some four directional cording (some natural rope or cord you have offered to the four directions, North, South, East and West) around the bottom. In the middle place the prayer flags.

When you are placing on a sweat lodge, you may have a flag for each grandparent, each star nation separately, each direction, each element, each wind, this way all is honored in the lodge…

RELEASING CEREMONY

For this you will need a smudge bowl and a red natural cloth. Think about the troubles you are having and with each trouble tie a knot in the strip of cloth… Keep knotting until you are finished.

Now offer this to the seven directions, North, South, East, West, Above, Below, and Within. And begin to light your smudge bowl. Place your troubles in the smudge and allow them to burn..

As you watch them burn release the thoughts and never think of them again. Know it is in spirits hands now.. So it now belongs to spirit not to you.

AURACLE

Relax and breathe. Prepare for Shaman journeying. Relax, be open to yourself. Trust your ability to know. Trust knowing. Trust your intuition. Trust your inner teacher.

Breathe Deeply and then deepen your rhythm.

Imagine yourself standing in the middle of a large five pointed star surrounded by a circle. In the center of the circle you are in the center of yourself. In the center of your own power and knowing. Renew your acquaintance with each of your five senses. Seeing, hearing, touching, tasting and smelling.

Allow yourself to open the channels of these five senses wider than ever before. Stimulate the pathways in your brain that brings the message of each of your senses. Stimulate new pathways to your intuition. Stimulate the partnership of the heart and mind in knowing. Allow an image to emerge for you, a personal symbol or talisman of knowing.

Touch your forehead and your chest. Affirm the connection of the heart and the mind in self-knowing and in intuition. Look, in your imagine, to the top point of the star. Notice the word written inside that point.

It’s traditional today that auras are seen, yet auras are more than that. Auras are received through all of your senses. Allow yourself permission to learn to sense aura, yours and those around you.

Breath deeply.

In your imagine turn point to point around the five pointed star.

Affirm seeing, affirm hearing, touching, tasting, and smelling.

Breathe deeply again.

Create an image of a control panel with many buttons of many colors, many hues, many shades and many increases. See instructions on the control panel as in “push red to receive”. Select a button of your favorite color and push it. When you do, the color leaps out of the control panel and swirls around you until everything has the vibration of that color.

Take time to receive that color from every sense. See it, listen for the sound, taste it, touch it, and catch the fragrance it gives. Allow yourself to capture the sense of that color for yourself.

Take all the time you need.

Then in your image, push a few more buttons and open your senses to receive the meaning of these colors for you.

Take time to note the colors that you choose, for these have significance for you. They may be colors from your own aura. Enjoy the experience.

Breathe Deeply.

Think of some information about auras. Auras are a reflection off energy. Auras are a force fiend. Some say auras are like a little magick circle of yourself, reflecting and emanating from inside of your being. Visible and apparent only to those who are open to knowing. Allow yourself to be open to self-knowing. Aura colors have traditional meanings that bay be uses as a guideline for your learning.

Breathe deeply.

File these meanings if you choose to. Allow each color to appear in your imagine and notice the “sense” it has for you.

Breathe deeply.

Listen for the traditional meaning of some aura colors. Know that if your intuition disagrees with the meanings given, you may disagree also. You may create your won program of meanings. Work with your intuition, for your inner teacher.

Begin by imagining red. This is the traditional color of energy, strength and courage. The brighter the reds are the more physical. A brownish red often indicates anger. A deep red shows sensuality. Crimson is loyalty. Scarlet is continence.

Breathe deeply again.

Take all the time you need to get the sense of Red.

Now imagine pink. The color of love and optimism. Next imagine rose, which is sometimes the color of self-love and self-appreciation. A rosy glow of confidence is another way to describe an aura reading that has lots of rose pink. Be open to what your senses can say to you.

Orange is the color of joy and vitality. The balance of the physical, and fiery energy of red and the mental airy energy of yellow. Feel the vibration and pace of the orange.

Breathe deeply again.

Imagine yellow, the color of wisdom and mental creativity. If the yellow in an aura is dull, then it may symbolize thoughts clouded with worry or fear. These things you will learn to recognize.

Now imagine Green, the color of compassion, the heart, healing, growth and ingenuity. A person with much green in their aura is often loving and expansive. If the green is dark, it’s the green of a healing person. Pale green is the blending of the white of spirit with the green of heart felt compassion.

Breathe deeply and receive the vibrations of the healing green in your aura. If the green appears dull, it is the color of pessimism, jealousy or envy. A shadow of love. You will learn to notice the play of colors and the tones will take on meaning for you. Increasing your knowing.

Next imagine blue, the color of idealism, spirituality and imagination. If dull, then blue indicates depression. Haven’t we all had the blues at times? If the blue is hot and bright, this is the color of intellectual quests and idealistic spiritualism. Turquoise and ultramarine are these types. Ultraviolet blue often flows through the auras of spiritual leaders, be they leaders of themselves or leaders of a group.

Breathe and allow the image of violet to emerge. This is the color of a more purely spiritual power of deep philosophical strengths. The deeper violets indicates a level of majesty or royalty of spirit. The lighter tones of lavender represents a high level of self-healing energies and spirituality. Theses are the blend of the white of spirit and violet of power.

Now imagine the purity of the color white. The white is the combination of all vibrations and colors in balance. It is the color of pure spirituality, it is the white light we hear about and send to those we love, and which we surround ourselves with to find self-healing balance. You can create white light in your aura.

Breathe deeply and receive white light in all of your senses.

Rare to see or sense is the presence of black in an aura. Black can mean a person seeking light, or black can show a great depth of depression. Sometimes an aura with black in it may be cleansed with life and white light. Allow white light to flow through you at the first tread of black. You may see it chases away shadows. To read black in an aura, look at it in relationship to the other colors. Let the image of black fade and create an image of rich earthy brown. This is the color of connection with the earth’s energy. Dull browns are low energy, listless and tired. Rich browns are enthusiastic and friendly.

Now let the image of gray emerge. Gray is a veil in auras. Grey is a tricky color. Often used to mask or suppress the vibrations of another color, another aspect of the self. Notice, whenever gray appears, which colors it surrounds or masks. What do you think that masking means?

Questions are to stimulate your learning. Ask yourself questions all the time. Your intuition will give you the answers, or at least a few hints.

Breath deeply again.

Allow the colors of higher vibrations to emerge.

Gold, the active, universal color of high mindfulness and spirit. Allow gold to appear in your aura and feel the active powers of it’s vibration.

Next image silver, the receptive meditative color of psychic vibration. Silver is traditionally an indication of openness to wisdom an intuitions. Let silver flow through your aura.

Finally image golden light flowing down from above your head. Breathe deeply and blend all the colors together until you have surrounded yourself with glowing white light. Followed with silver and gold.

Know that the colors may be used, as well as read, in order to heal and balance as you practice. You will find your own ways to work with the colors, to work with the auracle who is in yourself.

Now breathe deeply and allow yourself to create one more image.

Imagine yourself in a dark theater, the only light is a spotlight on the stage, take a seat and watch the stage. In your imagination allow a person you know to step into the spotlight on the stage. Know that there is a very special spotlight. The spotlight of your intuition. As this person moves about in the spotlight, perhaps silent, maybe seeking. Notice the trail of colors in that person’s aura.

Take all the time you need.

Breathe deeply, carefully, and let yourself step into the spotlight on the stage. Crete an image of yourself and observe the aura of yourself. If this is difficult, you may want to imagine yourself as you do when looking into a mirror.

Take all the time you wish to pick up colors and vibrations in your own aura. This is the mark of an auracle. Self-knowing. Perhaps you can let colors emerge into your image and surround yourself. Remember, the colors you choose are most often the colors you reflect.

Take all the time you need for self-knowing in sensing your aura.

Know that you may return to this image whenever you choose to practice your skills as an auracle. Return, replenished. Come into the moment. Feel your body… That is all..

Side Note… There is one more aura to watch for and that is the rainbow aura, it will contain all the colors listed here, but is very rare. And in some cases you will see spike like formations coming out of a persons aura. Also very rare. This is their connection to the cosmos. Their channel. I have only seen this once, on one of my students. Her connection to source energy was the strongest I’ve seen. I often wonder if she ever has a thought of her own, or if it is all channeled.

:D We've made prayer flags in our circle, but we call them prayer ties. I love doing any type of work like that. Knot Magick, beading and even sewing can be used the same way. I also love the releasing ceremony. For me, sage and nag champa incense are the cure for anything that ails me.

The colors in the auracle seem to correspond with the chakras! Thank you so much for contributing all of this.

TOTEM ADOPTION CEREMONY

This ritual is often done by beginning to light the herbs in the sacred manner.
Take a few moments to smudge yourself.
Take the totem, or a representation of the totem if need be, and pass it through the smoke.
Holding the totem, surround yourself and it with clear green light to symbolize the heartfelt connection.
Next, cast the golden light around to symbolize the active higher energies you wish to bring into this relationship.
Begin in the East and travel around the four directions.

In the East, state your intention to let the wind of illumination and creativity blow freely between you so that you may grow together.

In the South, state your intention to kindle the fires of trust that will bond your relationship to this totem. Bond in true faith.

In the West, state your intention to let love flow between you and the totem, which will nourish your inner needs.

In the North, stat your intention to let love be felt in your heart with this totem and to let wisdom guide your purpose together.

Bring in their power.
Complete the circle and call in Mother Earth, Father Sky and The Great Spirit.

Go back to the east and hold the totem up to spirit, stating your intentions as you touch the totem to the ground or floor.
To Mother Earth state your intentions to let healing energy flow through you and through this totem. That the highest good are served by your relationship to this totem.
Meditate for a while on your path and on the relationship you have to this totem as well as to self, nature, and spirit.
Close the ceremony by honoring all of the elements, spirit keepers, and directions seen and unseen, but felt as helpers on your shamanic path.
Release all that you called.

NOTE: This ceremony may be deepened to call in the energies of the directions, and to serve as an initiation for you and your totem. It may also be adapted to charge a totem with a particular energy or purpose.

It can also be deepened more to bring you and another person together. This will be a commitment that this three-dimensional world cannot break. Nor can you. All harmony must be kept between you and this person. You will become spiritual family. More than blood. It's forever. Be careful whom you choose to share the rest of your eons with.

That is all.

Sacred Tobacco Blends.

Use seven different herbs to honor the seven directions.

Bearberry: AKA Uni Ursi
Dogwood
Mugwort
Mint
Chamomile
Borage
Passion Flower
Red Sage: Just one finger per blend can cause Nausea.
Amaranth
Damiana: Hallucinations. Use only two fingers per blend.
Skullcap: Hallucinations. Use only two fingers per blend.
Wormwood
Lobelia: Hallucinations. Use only one finger per blend.
Jimson weed: No more then one finger. Similar to Hemp.
Rose Petals.

There are traditional although definite effects when smoked. Both physical and psychic. Never use tobacco in a sacred opened pipe.

The stem is the male aspect of the pipe. The father of all. It is held in the right hand, or your male hand. The bowl is the female aspect of the pipe. The mother of all. It is held in your left hand or your female hand. Joined together they become a power of one. Just like the male and female peoples. Together we can come together and become one.

One pinch of herb is offered to the directions starting in the east. Call in the aspect that you wish to carry your prayers to the Great Spirit. The nest direction is offered to the south and so on, around the wheel. Next is the mother of all. Thank her for the herbs. Welcome her to your pipe. Next is Father sky. Welcome Grandmother moon, Grandfather sun, Star nations etc. Then comes the Great Mystery, which is always in silence and great respect. The stories of White Buffalo and Calf Woman will help you to understand the meaning of the pipe.

The first smoke is to thank the Great Spirit. To understand we are a part of the great wheel. The sacred hoop.

The second smoke is for Mother Earth and what that means to you.

The third smoke is for our relations with the animals, stones, herbs, elements, finned ones, winged ones and to all our relations.

The forth smoke is to all peoples past, present and future. Here now and those of the different planets as well. We smoke and pray for all peoples.
The fifth smoke is to ask for guidance, and to connect yourself with the spirit world. To your guardians.

The sixth smoke is for people who you know need help at this time. This is the time to remember your enemies as well as your friends.. To bless them and their families.

The seventh smoke is always for the Great Spirit. The Great Mystery. It is done in complete reverence and silence. Finish connecting yourself with the all. The wholeness of life itself.

Note from Star: I have the stories of White Buffalo and Calf Woman and will try and post them soon....

Shamanic Bonding Exercise.

You may use any rock people, plant people or animals for totem.

Find a quite place where you can be sure of privacy and protection, surround yourself, your totem or a representation of it, and the area with a golden light.

Use no other scents or textures that might distract you, other than the totem itself.

Beginning in the East, offer your totem to the helping spirits and elements of the four directions.

Go to the East, South, West, North, offer the totem to Mother Earth, Father sky and the Great Spirit.

Sit quietly, holding your totem in your right hand, either literally or figuratively in image.

Now let your breath flow naturally, move the totem to your left hand and rock with it gently. Make no sound until you begin to feel the vibration of the totem. Feel the rhythm of the totem. Rock to it’s pace. Know the vibration of the totem. Stop rocking.

Now create the vibration of the totem without a sound, without moving, feels it inside your mind. Feel it in your heart, put it in your body’s memories. Take a moment to rest.

Move the totem to your right hand, breathe four deep breaths, each time releasing your breath on the totem. This is called the breath of spirit or intention. Return to your natural breathing. Move the totem to your left hand. Close your eyes and imagine that you and your totem are walking together into a room. You see a dark theater screen in the color yellow, then orange, then red, then green then blue, then indigo, then violet, then white. And then a blank screen. Now focus your mind on the blank screen and ask your totem to project pictures onto the screen for you. Just let them flow naturally like your breath. You will remember what you need of what you see. Stop the pictures and darken the screen to black. Now open your eyes and recreate as much of what you saw in your mind’s eye as you can.

You may find it useful to stare up at the sky or ceiling while you do this. It helps program your pictures. Don’t strain to remember let what comes back through and leave the rest, you don’t need it.

Take a few quiet moments.

When you are ready, put the totem in your right hand and do the four breaths again. As you did before. Move the totem to your left hand and breathe naturally. Whit your eyes open concentrate on one spot or one aspect of the totem imagery. Visualize one part, for example, a leaf or one point of a crystal. Continue to concentrate on one aspect and listen carefully. Ask your totem to create a sound that you can hear. This is obviously easier with animals. Ask for one clear note, if possible. Listen.

Now try to match the sound with your own inner voice, listen again.

Now make the sound out loud if you can, if not, again in your inner voice.

Return to silence, inner and outer. Take a few moments to rest.

Now put the totem in your right hand once again and do the four breaths. Return the totem to your left hand and breathe naturally with your eyes closed. Ask the totem to send a fragrance to you. When you have received a fragrance, open your eyes and recreate it.

To the same procedure with taste.

Now place the totem close to your heart and ask the totem to send an emotion or a feeling to you. Breathe deeply and experience the emotion of the totem breathe deeply again and return the experience to the totem in your right hand and rest.

Now breath four breathes on the totem and place it against the base of your spine, breathing slowly, create an image in your mind’s eye of the ray colors of the charkas, yellow, orange, red, green, blue, indigo, violet.

Then you have done that, breath deeply and switch hands while continuing to hold the totem at the base of your spine. Now imagine the colors in reverse. Violet, indigo, blue, green, red, orange, yellow.

Last, take the totem from behind your back, place in both hands and hold it at arms length, heart level. Breathe the four breaths on the totem and slowly bring it up to touch your third eye area.

Hold it for a moment, then gently place the totem a few feet away, breathe deeply and express your gratitude.

Honor the four directions, then Mother Earth, Father Sky and the Great Spirit.

Rest and meditate on what you have learned.

NOTE: this is an exercise, it may be as ceremonial or as informal as you choose. You may add to it or take away. I do advise that you go through it once, just as it is to open all the sensory channels. You may also extend the distance between yourself and the totem until you are able to train yourself to do this without touching at all. Afterwards be aware of your environment and your dream states for a few days. You may learn even more. This also increases your faith in yourself. You need to trust in what you feel, think, do etc.

This medicine is very special, we will not have our tools in the crossing over. You may need to become this totem to give its special healing abilities to someone else. We are the crystals, the minerals, the animals. We need to connect with all of our relatives.

That is all.

Empowerment Image: Circle of Self

Breathe deeply and allow yourself to go deeper than you have before.
Give yourself permission to connect all the parts of your being.
Experience syntheses. Be at one with the universe.
Imagine yourself in a place of nature all your own. Breathe deeply to energize the image. Notice the sights and sounds of this place.
Breathe in the fragrances and flowers of this place.
Feel the energy use this energy and begin to construct your won universe.
Breathe to empower yourself. This is your place in nature alone with the earth and the sky. Alone with yourself, attuned.
In your nature image, turn to the east and face the rising sun.
This is daily a new source of energy. This is the element air. The element of spirit and philosophy for yourself. This is the soul of our being. Look to the east for illumination and renewal. Breathe deeply and experience the energy of the east. Allow it to flow though you. Now let it go.
Turn right to the south. This is the element of fire. The spark that stimulates action. This gives you the strength of your energy. Look to the south for the dynamic energy of relationships. Person to person, self to self. Breathe deeply and experience the energy of the south. Allow it to flow through you. Now let it go.
Turn right again to the west. This is the element of water. This is the source of our compassion. From this flows your emotions. Welcome your emotions. Allow them to float freely by. Look to the west for introspection. Breathe deeply and experience the energy of the north. Allow it to flow through you. Now let it go.
Turn right again, to the north. This is the element of earth. This is our reason and logic. This grounds you. This is the magnetic point of connection. Look to the north for wisdom. Breathe deeply and experience the energy of the north. Allow it to flow through you. Now let it go.
Torn right, again to the east. Complete the circle. Breathe deeply and center in your place in nature. Center yourself in your image.
Now cast a circle of light around yourself. Allow it to focus energy and power.
Cast the circle of yourself. Breathe to energize your image.
Imagine a situation in your life that you wish to change in some way. Remember that you are in your special place in nature. You are at the same time, alone and at one with all the elements of your being.
This is your image. This is your universe. Knowing that you have complete control in this image to say or do as you choose.
Ask the question, make the request for change. Then release it to the higher elements of your being. Give it to your higher self and let it go.
Breathe a long, slow breath. Now become fully aware and prepared to receive a clarification.
Open all your senses. You may receive directions, you may receive answers. Breathe deeply to energize your image.
Perhaps you will find another way to deal with this situation.
Another idea, an alternate plan. Perhaps you will find a clearer path.
Take all the time you need to be open to yourself.
Allow yourself to be open to changing your mind.
Know that you have received the images that you need. You have the clarity you need for action. Know that you can create your own images. Your own universe. With intentions of goodwill, for the good of all, begin to create the situation you desire. Imagine the desire then create what it is. Project this in front of you, completed. Ask yourself is this what you desire.
As far as you can see, is it for the good of all?
Is it for the good of yourself?
Know that you may affirm this at any time by creating the image and breathing life into it. Know that as much as your need is within you. Breathe deeply and find yourself once again, in yourself, in your special place in nature. Facing the rising sun. Notice that the sun is brighter and warmer, higher on the horizon. Allow the warmth and the light of the sun to energize you. Let it heal and replenish you. Be at peace with yourself, you can create the life that you desire. Take time to heal, and be at peace with yourself.
Make the circle once again. Turning each time to the right. Breathe and absorb the energy of each direction.
Take all the time you need. Complete the circle of yourself. Celebrate all the elements of your being. Celebrate your oneness with nature. Celebrate your oneness with all things.
Know that you may always return to your place in nature. This is your choice. Begin to come back to the present awareness. Return fully alert. Be aware of your body. Wiggle your toes, be here now.

That is all..
