Ok. I dont have this problem, but I am curious. What do you tell your children to say if they are asked about the religion that they belong? Do you have them tell everyone they are Pagan....or...

Yes but maybe undecided will get the same looks as Pagan would...

I am sure if asked what religion their parents followed, the answer would be much different.

Oh..no! I didnt mean suggest that. I dont really know how to handle it myself..except just tell him (my son) to tell it like it is...which is exactly what you are saying so I will shut up now.

I am not a pagan parent (yet.) but I have two much younger brothers who look to me like a parent.

I have told my brother (who is not pagan, but holds very pagan beliefs.) just to tell them exactly what he believes. If they tell him that he is wrong, or that there is only one way of worshiping divinity (or that there is only one divine being), I tell him to ignore them, because we all have our own beliefs. This doesn't always work though, and some kids in his class have been accusing him of being a satan worshiper, and sacrificing cats and nailing them to trees.

This is a rumor that his neighbor started so that we would be harrassed by others in the community. The neighbor didn't like the fact that I was having Sabbat parties in my backyard. This neighbor actually called the fire department on us at one meeting. An entire unit showed up at the house, and walked back into the woods where we were about to start our festivities. The fire men and police officers were cracking up so bad that they could barely stand up when they saw that we had candles lit and nothing more. I guess that the neighbor didn't like the fact that we made him look like a total idiot.

My brother understands that everyone has their own path to walk, and respects those paths as long as the are not pushed on him. He is so smart for an eleven year old!

That's my story... What's yours?

Blessed Be!

kaylara,
Next time your neighbor makes a comment or even a sideways glance you should tell them you are out looking for empty souls to scrifice to the Gods and ask if they are interested!
