Alrighty- I'm sooo excited that its finally almost done. I have a few things to add-- I want a huge bean bag to sit and meditate on and more things to hang from the celing, etc, etc, etc.
Ok-- The room has 2 steps going down to get in it. Its not very big. only 5 foot wide and 10 foot long from back wall to bottom step.
One picture is standing in the doorway looking at the back wall. Shows most of the room. You can see a row of beads draped across the top of the picture-- it wraps all the way around 3 walls of the room- Its a string of prayer beads that Willow Rosette did for me at her Pagan Pride Day out in Cali. Prayer Beads were done for my daughter who was going in to remove a huge tumor from her brain last sept. Tons of people here on MW, and in Tulsa had loads of well wishes and energy that was greatly appriciated
One picture is of the altar- it's obivous, has my representations of the elements, my athame, chalice, my "send to the winds" pot that I don't think you can see it though- but its what I put any spilled herbs or wax chunks in. The altar is actually a small bookshelf with boards stained and attached to the top to make the altar- so i have storage and an altar in one. i keep candles and extra herbs and a box with all my stones and crystals, as well as empty oil jars and herb jars, pieces of parchment, pens and crayons/pencils of every color on the shelf as well. And measuring spoons and the hooks to hang the things from the celing, etc.
One picture shows the herb shelf--- have 30 some odd herb jars on it and theres more in baggies in a box under the altar.
You can see the many books- some are fluffy some are not- been collected from all over.
The big white trunk needs a paint job- it was a free find and its freaking huge. I keep all my seasonal and holiday altar decorations in that. I decorate part of the shelf above the altar for each season (yule, ostara, mabon, samhain, etc) I love it.
One picture is me standing in the back corner of the room facing the doorway-- there are different sun/moon/dragon/fairy mirrors hanging on both sides the wall that are hard to see- you can see my beloved prayer beads in that pic too :) You can also see on the shelf above the herbs where I keep all the oils- some i've made, and some bought.
anyway-- there it is-- I feel totally blessed to have found a house that allows me to have such a room. The back half our house is actually an add on and the room used to be a second pathway to the downstairs. There are 2 sets of stairs going downstairs and they are 10 feet apart so we put up a wall and made the little are a ritual room for me and we just use the other set of stairs. AND if I re sell my house- the ritual room is right off the dining room and kitchen so I can easily stage it as a walk in pantry!!! I love it!
Thanks for looking and I'd love any comments or compliments lol
