Hubby and I went out in the woods yesterday. We were looking for an oak staff because I want to make a besom as a gift for my sis-in-laws 1st wedding anniversary. We found the staff and he ask if I wanted to stop by my spot before heading home. At first I said no, but he said I should, so we did. I headed down into the spot and my altar had been moved. Now it's a big heavy walnut log. Not wanting to believe someone had been down there I asked if the wind possibly could have moved it (you know those tornados sweeped through here not to long ago). He looked around and said, "no wind did that". I also have a smaller log that I use as a seat - sometimes I stay there for quite a while - it also had been moved. Way out of the circle. Course we thought about who it could've been. The whole farm is posted. I know that doesn't stop some people. And it's hunting season. No one is supposed to hunt here without permission from us. There again - that doesn't stop some people. Then the guys who lease the field right next to the spot had been plowing about a week before we left for New Orleans. I don't leave anything elese there so nothing was really hurt - except my feelings.:(

I'm sorry to hear that I know what it feels like to have your privacy invaded.

Some people are just so inconsiderate. Just a few days ago, my mom took my athame off my altar because she thought it was part of her kitchen knife set. (I'm not sure WHY she thought this...they don't look REMOTELY alike.) I think we need to make giant neon "NO TOUCH" signs. ;)

Sometimes I think it's that urbanites escaping from the city on vacation see 4 trees together and think it's a National Forest. When I lived in the mountains and it snowed, I'd wake up to people building snowmen and sledding in my front yard. Snow definitely obliterates natural visible boundries in a way that seems to work against the concept of private property.

Sweetie, big hugs!!! I wish I had a spot like that to go to.

It's such a shame when space is invaded. Don't worry, you know it happened for a reason. Maybe it's time for a new spot? Or, perhaps the energies needed clearing out right now.

You will find your spot again. It's waiting for you to claim.

Much love babe. :) ;)

Witchy Cowgirl,

I'm sorry to hear that...I live in rural Alaska where we have no fences and I have my little spot made out of bricks out back in the woods. However during the snows I hear snowmachines running everywhere and I worry alot. So far all is well, but I know there will be a time when one of those mobilers will plow right into it.

Thanks for listening ya'll.
I hate to lose that spot.
As you walk along the tree line of the field, you come to a spot where the trees give way to underbrush - Queen Ann's Lace, Morning Glory, Briars, Blackberry, Honeysuckle. There is a path that goes through this brush and back into the trees. The path opens up to a gentle drop off. If you stand at the drop off you can look down into the circle that is surronded by trees. Right now, the circle is covered in leaves. The walnut log was in the center. And it is now because I moved it back. There is a fallen tree on the edge of the circle, where many of you have sat with me.:) To the left (West) is a pile of firewood - which was the real reason we stopped by there the other day - so I could pick up the fallen wood that should have dropped when the tornado winds came through - but there was none. You know I've never built a fire down there.
Perhaps I will cleanse the area. It could possible have been some boys that live near that end of the farm. Or maybe I'll look for another spot closer to the house.
Again, I appreciate all of you, maybe you'll be with me again in that spot....or maybe in another......

Good luck with "reclaiming" your spot or finding a new one. Maybe this little trial will add to your love for the spot and hence add power to the magick you work there. :)
