A friend gets really bad eczema in the wintertime, hands, feet, even legs chest and back... is there any natural things I can try to make to heal it better? he has this white prescription cream he uses, but it doesn't seem to do very much...
he is at construction sites daily so his hands take quite a beating... :(
thanks :)

Is it a cortison cream he's using? One thing that I've always found works for eczema is flaxseed oil. You can buy that at the health food store in liquid or capsule. If you're getting liquid, make sure to check the expiry date & it has to be kept in the fridge. Flaxseed oil is excellent to take internally for most skin conditions. You can also apply it externally for a quicker healing. Try adding a few drops of tea tree oil to a tablespoon of flaxseed oil & massaging that on. Also, the soaps & detergent he's using may be contributing to the problem. As well, check his diet too. Certain foods makes the eczema worse.

He works in construction (carpenter) so he is around dust, and all the chemicals that come along with jobsites, and with the onset of winter it just makes it worse.
I will speak with him on the foods and detergent front, but his dad has it as well, kinda a family thing, so I think it could be a genetic thing.
Thank you for the flaxseed idea Wildchild, i will have to see if I can get him to try it :)

Hey Shnen,
Your post reminded me of Nina's thread from a while back. It had some good tips as well:
