My Athame....

My husband came home this evening with a surprise for me....sort of a late birthday early christmas gift. A gentleman he works with makes these beautiful knives....well the hubby asked if he would make me an Athame. He did.....here are the pics of it. The blade is made from Obsidian stone with a natural shape of a Dragon in it's blade. The handle is made from Elk Horn....Beautiful Work!!!....when I held it...I could feel ALOT of power coming from it.
note: the image of the Dragon came naturally from the stone. It was not put there by the hands of man.

here is the thiness of the blade. From what he said, working with this stone was very hard (to make this thin)

There are Mountain men where I come from they make some really beautiful knives as well If I get a chance to go home, I'll buy one and post pics of it.
