I'm looking for something but ... I have no idea what it is. I can't even remember where I heard it (if this forum or another page.) I know it has to do with the Norse faith in some way shape or form.

Basically, it's the name of a specific brand of female shaman. I think they were seer's, though I don't remember if they were every dedicated to a specific god/dess. All I really remember beside the "shaman" part was that it was exclusively female and the page I read put a lot of emphasis on a staff. That the staff was either buried with the shaman or passed along to the next.

I'm not certain. It was years and years ago and it peaked my interest but I was too much in a funk to look more into it. If anyone has ANY idea what I'm talking about (kudos if you do), pls pls pls tell me and I'll love you forever and a day. :fpraise::fpraise::fpraise:

If you're talking about the Norse ones, they were called Völva. Which means "wand carrier" or "carrier of magical staff"

Here's a link to a wikipedia article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V%C3%B6lva

That is so awesome.

I'm also happy to see it because it goes against the idea that Norse is extremely or only masculine, lol.
