Ok, I feel as if my pendulum is lying to me....or maybe not, but I don't get consistant answers from it. Does it pick up on how I feel and what I may secretly want and then tell me what I want to hear? Or do I just need to find a new pendulum?

Help!

p.s. this is my very first pendulum

You're exactly right, Willow. A pendulum works with your subconscious to give you answers. Your subconscious says yes or no, and then directs your hand to make tiny movements that cause the pendulum to swing. So if you want the answer to be yes, it most likely will be. There are a couple things you can try to get more accurate answers. First, focus more on the question than the answer. If you can block any bias from your mind, the pendulum will answer more truthfully. Second, make sure you know which way is yes and which way is no. To do this you could ask the pendulum to show you yes, and note the direction it swings in, and then do the same for no. Another option is to actually draw on a piece of paper the directions you want the pendulum to swing in for its answers. That way, there is no question at all. Also, since this is your first pendulum, you may want to play around with it more before asking any important questions. Get used to its feel and how it shows its answers, that sort of thing. If there's anything else you want to know, just ask! :)

Thanks for that advice. I have two beautiful pendulums but don't use them due to the same concerns and problems.

Here's a huge thread about the art:
