Are there any deities you have come into contact with that you were frightened of or intimidated by?

Uh, yes
Pretty sensible reaction one would think
Odin, Hel, Nexhagus, Babalon, It's hard to get them putting in an appearance in your dreams and not feel a bit overwhelmed

Could I just ask, who's Nexhagus?, I've never heard of her/him before?.

I had Odin in a dream...I didn't feel too scared or anything, just worried I wouldn't greet/honor him properly. That's all. Maybe I'm weird? Or I expected it to happen. Both. I don't know.
Anyway, I have felt fear and intimidation from at least one being, Samael. That's about it so far.

Herne of the Wild Hunt. He was quite dependable in his guise as Lord of the Hunt, but he felt I had done him wrong. Lord of the Wild Hunt in any pantheon is never someone you want displeased with you...-shudder-

My God, the triune, is very loving and caring. Christ is my brother and friend. God, my father. The Spirit, my guiding force. I feel very much at peace with them.

No. I work with some intense deities, I know my place with them, but I'm not intimidated by them. I do, however, respect their power.

thanks for all the responses! :) for me, i've never personally felt intimidated by the Goddess. Instead, i've felt feelings of motherly protection, intense love, eternal wisdom and fierce strength :)

Reverential? Yes. Inadequate? Yes. Intimidated? No. Most of the ones I've met have made me feel the first two.

I'm going to get laughed at now  *joking* -
Bast - She was quite intimidating when I first had her appear during a meditation session.

I wouldn't laugh. To many forget that she is still a fierce Solar War Goddess and holds many of the same features as Sehkmet. In her persona as the lunar Cat Goddess she is not exactly without merit either.

Kali was very scary at first; especially considering that, at the time, I was going through a mental departure from Christianity.
Eventually though, I came to realise that most of what I was afraid of was stuff I'd read on the Internet. Mother herself has never been anything but good to me. I got, "Do not be afraid of me," repeated a lot. The message eventually sunk in. ;)
The imagery she likes using can still be a little offputting at times, though; especially in dreams. I've never really understood why she feels a need to use such dark imagery, especially considering that her behaviour towards me has been exactly the opposite; she is very loving.
There is an odd paradox there.

He's a trickster type of recent discovery, if not invention, associated with one of Tyophonian OTO spin offs, also with one of the MAAT cults

I find the dreams in which they manifest to be overwhelming, with a frightening sense of losing control of the personal subconcious as the, I guess the Jungian collective unconcious is the best term for it, other dream comes in and takes over

Thanks for telling me, I might research the Tyophonian OTO, I'm really interested in Kenneth Grants work.

not frightened but intimidated...and cautious....which has made me slow to react. But they would be Hel and Freya to some extent...mostly I'd like to avoid pissing them off ^^

When Papa Legba, the voudan loa came to me in my dreams (3 nights in a row!) I was a little intimidated. But then I am usually a little intimated towards authority figures in general.
And I was just learning about voudan, so it was a real surprise!
When I got to know him, I relaxed a lot more.

Kali should intimidate me but She hasn't,
maybe later?
Sure She's rough with life changing
stuff but if She wasn't then i would
never change, i am stubborn
and fearful which isn't a good mix
and Kali helps me alot ^^
She's my Mother Goddess and i love Her <3

Yep. All of them but Loki and Thor. Of course, I haven't had encounters with a lot. Still, they frighten me. I don't need to meet Freya or Skadi to know that I should be afraid. And Odin is beyond intimidating, and I have had some contact with him. Very brief and not very intense - it was just like I had for some reason caught his attention and that was pretty terrifying.

That reminds me of one of my patrons, Sutekh (Set). He appeared to me as a gray-skinned being with glowing red eyes, a mouth full of sharp teeth, and clawed hands. He said he loves me, and not to believe what those silly people say on the Internet (ie, he is evil, doesn't love and abuses his followers, etc.) He has been nothing but kind and generous to me.
The deity that intimidates me is Djehuty. (Thoth). It's like he has this penetrating stare that sees all my sins and imperfections, and he heavily disapproves.

Recently, Hera gave me the scare of my life at 4 in the morning lolol However, I'm not scared of her. Intimidated, yes, but that's because she's Hera.
