In Kemeticism we have the Zep Tepi - it is the new beginning, where what has been is let go. Things have not been forgotten nor lost, and one doesn't act as if they never happened, but accepts they did and moves on from them knowing that a new beginning brings hope and every possibility for a bright future.
Sometimes, as Sekhmet might say, the world needs to be destroyed for beauty to come again.
