Just wanted to introduce myself...

I'm Greens, and have been a practicing "whatever" for a while now. I live in a house with my cats, turtle, fish, mate, and mother. It's full of chaos and love. I enjoy creating things, like quilts, afghans, and new ways of using old things no one wants anymore.

Greens, I'd love to see any pics of your quilts that you may have!!! I don't quilt myself, but love sitting and watching others do it and totally enjoy the end products!!!

Welcome Greens! I don't quilt, either, but my mom does want to teach my. My dad does afghans, too. :)

I, too, would like to see some of the things you've done. Especially in making new things out of the stuff no one wants anymore. I have plenty of that lying around!

Well. that was interesting. I tried to attach a picture, and I don't think it went. Oh, well.

Thanks for your warm greetings.

I am currently working on 4 quilts:

a double wedding ring- white background, with blue and purple pieced rings

a prayer quilt- tan back ground with 8 circles, with 8 pie wedges each

a card trick lap quilt, in off-whites, reds, and greens- almost done with this one

a maple leaf quilt- haven't quite found the fabric I want to put on the back yet. This was my first quilt that I put the top together for. If you're wanting to learn how to quilt, this is an easy one to learn.


As for the making old new again, I put together toy sets, making all the neat accessory pieces that you always wished you had as a kid. I use model making techniques from war-gaming to make bridges, ponds, mountains that come apart, with bits and pieces from other things. I also try to refurbish stuffed animals, instead of throwing them out.

I've got many a quilter in my family! Although put a needle in my hand and the result is just a complete disaster. Usually it ends up with me needing a tetanus shot! :lol:
