Yesterday while I was out in our backyard, which is mostly woods, I saw this thing.
I thought it was a moth, but I'm not sure.

It was about the size of my thumb nail, but I could still see it perfectly well for some reason. He was hovering just about a foot off the ground. It was a pure fresh snow color, almost a pearly white and oddly enough almost seemed like it was glowing a bit as well, no other colors and it was the same color all the way through evenly. No antenna or any kind of bug features. No legs that I could make out either. It did not look quite like a moth or any kind of flying bug I had ever seen.
It had wings that were quite high up on it's body, I guess shoulder height on a person if I had to say, and it's body and wings were very slender and graceful. I was about 4 feet away and I had to blink a few times to make sure I was seeing what I was seeing lol. I walked slowly and quietly over to the small short plant it landed on. When I bent down to get a better look it was gone. I swear it was like it melted away! I saw it land and I never took my eyes from the spot. I checked the plant very well, not many leaves or anything, but he was just gone!
I have never seen anything like that and it left me feeling a bit odd, not a bad odd, just odd.

Anyone have any idea what it might have been?

Maybe it is a creature that exists in only 2-dimensions, so you can only see it from certain angles but it would appear invisible otherwise...

If anyone can figure out if/what kind of bug, lemme know so I can plant what they like. I'd like to see it or others :P

If you really think its a bug, why did you post this in Paranormal?

Perhaps it was the disembodied ghost of a bug...

The way your describing it is as if you think it could have possibly been a fairy but wanted someone elses guess before actually jumping to that conclusion. I'm not sure what you saw. It may not have been any type of creature. Perhaps it was a reflection of light.

No mention of what they are, exactly, but apparently they're bugs native to a few states here in the U.S. -- and everyone always thinks they're a fairy at first glance.

They are pretty. And I'm dying to know what they are. And I'm definitely envious that you got to see one of these little beauties, for sure. xD

That's an absolute lovely little bug, though I've never liked bugs. This one I do like :D

This could be just what you saw that day, it looks like a fairy when flying, I've never saw them in my country though.

Would love to see one, hope someday I will :D

sounds like a fairy, possibly pixie lol. They usually like to be around gardens or nature. Sometimes faeries come in on a sweet cinnamon smell as well one that smells like cinnnamon toast. Maybe you could go to the woods and try leaving it a traditional gift of a saucer of milk perhaps or a crystal. If it was a bug err they don't really look like a person lol just my opinion  But of course it could be just a bug lol. So I guess ask yourself what was your first thought when you saw it.....and if it sits right with you...that's your answer.
