My DBA hat is on today. We are having some performance issues due to some bad plug-in code. I will need to restart the web services and database a few times while I am analyzing the issue.
I will try to keep the downtime to a minimum. I will also let you all know when I am finished. If everything works out, I should be able to fix the recent problems causing the downtimes lately.

w00t server maintenance! The past few days I've been doing the "refresh" dance every time I searched new posts! (It involves a jump to the left, then a step to the right, with your hands on your.... wait.):cutie:
I went so far as to mount my hard drive as slave back it up, and douche out my computer because I thought it was on my end.

Hehe...never heard of someone douching their computer. That's funny.

I found a really bad query that I believe to be the main culprit in our performance problems. It was the tag cloud on the main index page and the search page. The funny thing is that it is NOT a plugin query...it's actually vbulletin / Jelsoft code.
After disabling the plugin that displayed the tag cloud on the front page and disabling the display of the cloud on the advanced search page, the database load is down significantly.
I am going to continue monitoring. GEBS and I should have things running smoothly in no time.

That must have been a really bad query for you to post about it twice...:smileroll

I am not sure why that happened!

it's been happening a lot in the past couple of weeks. I've only seen it with forum guides or admins though.

Not sure why, but occasionally there's a double-post curse mol. I've found it often with the Quick Reply; it will load, then go to a new page telling me that my post/poll is being submitted, as if I had posted a new thread or went to "post reply" instead of quick reply. Somewhere in there the double post comes out. :eyebrow:
Any ideas?
I'll try to get a screencap for you the next time it happens.

Right? I'll keep an eye out for it myself.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's when it happens. I haven't noticed it go straight from Quick Reply or Post Reply to double the fun. :hehehehe:

Ok, there's rashes of them in Song Titles Game this afternoon. :wtf: And they're bucking the trend by not having that "you are being redirected" page come up.
Not sure if they're because of the slow-down we just had here or what....

Oh noes :awilly: rashes in the STTG! I hope it's not spreading! Do we need to distribute some kind of cream for that?!:blushake::yikes:

I haven't seen any weirdness myself, just noticed the slow down.

I noticed a slow down, and that I have been logged out randomly a few times. I hit "submit" on a thread reply or a pm and I am logged out.

No biggie, Mr. mol. It's been going on for a while now, it's just annoying - is all.

I noticed the same thing that Flaire did with the posts. It happened to me a few times. I didn't get duplicate posts every time though.
